Don’t think they have group buy for any car in Malaysia right ? 🤣 but yea if it works like buying stuff in lazada I would rather gather people who’s interested and get as much discount as possible !

I’m going over to my nearest Proton showroom to book one today smile.gif
Just wondering when I book Flagship variant, does it mean I am going to stick to that until loan approved ? Or I can change my option to Premium later on if anything ?

i think u can tell them ur preferred model lo.. then also 2nd choice. if u wanna think twice, u can submit loan for 2 variant, then u see which loan u wan to accept lo. just that u cannot submit loan for 2 banks lol. u can tell ur SA la they can arrange for u.

The SA I've contacted said just book your preferred variant first, but we are allowed to change later.

Expected queues & long waiting times. Some SA even took bookings since August
*
Can refer your SA to me ? I called proton hotline asking which showroom I can book X50, they tell me it’s closed today due to holiday and ask me to call again tomorrow 😂😂

Hold on, took booking since August ? I thought official announced no booking unless Proton make it official otherwise all scam ?

Usually how long does bookings open for? 1-2 months?

Personally, don't feel the rush to make the booking yet as I'm not 100% decided on the colour and would prefer to take a look at the car this Saturday first... tongue.gif

But if  there's a quota, for example first 10k bookings = Batch 1, subsequent 10k bookings = Batch 2, then I think there might be more urgency to book quickly sad.gif
*
Depends how long until they launch, usually is between Soft launch ~ Launch date, like X70

X70 book 1 month after launch end up only getting 5/6 months later haha

my gf (soon to be fiance) want to have a SUV b-seg, and keep say HRV better than x50 due to honda, japanese car, more reliable bla bla bla. looking at proton like low level like that...i'm so keen to have x50 but gf (w/o car knowledge) keep have those "listen parents/fren say" mentality, making the purchase of x50 is very impossible...

While im getting a D seg sedan in future

worst come to worst if she has bought HRV, I wouldn't be happy and I wouldn't drive/sit that car tbh
*
Gf is always like that unless she’s the one with income power which knows her stuff. I assume she’s not the one buying and probably not the one supporting financially so she doesn’t know what she is talking about.

Don’t think problem is the parts, but rather the environment and the car probably leaking mist etc. metal doesn’t rust by itself

I PMed you

Some SA took the initiative to take bookings early however it is not recognised by Proton.

For these guys who booked earlier, the SAs just registered the bookings officially starting today
*
Got it haha thanks man. But at the end of the day I went to someone else and she booked for me in less than 30 minutes 🔥

Asked my China friends' opinion on this car. They said, if buy, use 3-4 years or 100K km, then sell it off.
Most of the problems comes after that.
*
My initial plan is to get 5 years loan and sell it off immediately. Seems like it’s gonna be sooner than 5 😂

No way are you kidding me ?! Shit man that’s like X70 Executive.

Totally over my budget. Guess I won’t be buying house soon if I insist on getting Flagship model 😵

I plan to get flagship but there is no video or brochure to 'promote' this feature.. hard to convince ppl to upgrade to flagship when they dont know what is L2 ADAS.. plus the sunroof is not really a plus point to some..
*
I have seen Philippine and China Ones but they are not so much L2 at all so I’m wondering where the heck they get another system to support L2 and who the heck built it.

I wouldn’t want to risk it if the system is built by local 😵

Actually I would rather think that if Executive variant is below RM80k, it can grab a lot of sales.

Malaysian like leather seats.

It’s leatherette means ‘synthetic leather’ not real leather haha.

Ahh then it’s worth it 😂 we will know once we got our car
Just clarified with SA that my name is in the system booked, don’t even need booking fee to queue haha

My SA told me estimated pricing is 75k, 85k, 90k, 103k
*
Wtf 103K doesn’t make sense man I estimated the highest is 95K for highest variant.

If they really price 103K then i confirm Proton is trying to raise the price range bar for the future models including revamped Saga and Iris.

I see. Anyone got slots left? I watch the videos, seems like the quality of the cameras are not that good. Or is it just the preview unit only like that?
*
It’s possible that we are getting this ‘low quality’ camera because it’s CKD with 45% parts/component locally assembled.

They trying to cut down cost while keeping the price high for profit 🤷🏼‍♂️

If she is a simple point A to B driver, then Honda might be the better choice. For normal service, Honda is good, bar the warranty claim issue. If she can ignore minor squicky2 sound, go Honda.

Proton older models are mechanically reliable but rattle quite sooner than other brands. Service quality is bad, even in COSE have to wait half a day to change oil even if you are 1st in queue. If older model, can go to authorised service center like Lim Tayar to do minor service quickly. If geely model, cannot run away from 3S and 4S.
*
Agree but my friend who drives a City 2017 claims that each service cost minimum 560 and more than 800 for major ones.

So unless Geely components are that expensive, don’t think you will pay more than 500 for proton car service unless major

It's possible.. then after sst rebate is less than 100k.
I agree, it's possible (look at vios)
*
Seems like 103K is fake news so I sincerely hope they don’t price it any higher than 100K because it just doesn’t make sense.

Look at the rumored price range For each variant, it’s 10K gap between each other ! That is outrageous.

if the flagship is 95k ,  mean proton is trying to kill ihis eldest son  - x70  biggrin.gif
i can foreseen many x70 executive buyer will change their order to x50 flagship
*
My father and friends have different view. If it’s pass 100K range, what is stopping me from getting X70 with just some minor tech features eliminated from X50 ?
