me almost 60k. pun plan to change, if wanna go for stock size, 215/55R18 really hard to find leh.
but i personally yet meet any skid on my x50
*
At the moment there is no UC7 SUV yet.

They don't even have the 215/55R18 size.

The closest would be 235/50R18, but the stock 18" rim is 7" wide & can fit maximum 225 wide tires. Their 225/45R18 tires are too small. Need to change rims of at least 7.5" wide if wanna use this tire.

The 235/50R18 UC7 tire has a load rating of XL. So, should be able to handle SUV weight such as X50

Goodyear Assurance Maxguard SUV?

215/55R18 should be roughly below RM600 per piece

How much PS4 SUV nowadays considering the old model, any cheaper price? Most I noted happy with PS4
*
I couldn't find info for PS4 SUV with 215/55R18 size.

The closest I could find was Primacy SUV+ with 225/55R18. Cost about under RM700 per piece

The tint is still good as day 1 for me, but the car rarely spend many hours under open sun, only on a few occasions. But few time park open space in Legoland Johor, the tint doesn't make the seat hot and interior kinda not to hot.

I take Infusion Pro model iinm, all in cost less than rm1k including sunroof.

Just realised that Totalgard has a Shopee Mall set up.

About RM700++ for tinting SUV before discount.

Nice pricing. Thanks

I was interested on your input on retirement fact. I am retired and am considering X50. Its just me & wife now, so this SUV suits me fine. Am concerned over the engine getting rough over time. I have heard a 2+ year X50 engine, does sound a bit loud & rough. Any feedback on this issue?
*
Easy ingress & egress which I absolutely loved.

Mine also almost 3 years dy. But mine is the executive variant with the MPI turbocharged engine. So, no rough noises.

segambut KL branch asked me to make another appointment for whatever issue other than normal service..
i thought ask them to fix or change anything regarding the annoying brake sound x50 always have, and the AI system keep lag when talking.. then the staff said they can only help to see if there is update for the system, cant check anything extra..

if other branch can helps during service, then maybe i need to find another option.. thanks
*
If just checking, usually it can be done during the service.

However, if later found the source of the problem, & needs time to resolve &/or need to order parts either covered under warranty or otherwise, definitely have to book another time. Usually only on weekdays.

Weekends only for normal servicing.

Got my car already, things already done
1. Tinted Alva
2. Sideload HU
3. Boot tray
4. Dashcam (DDPAI)
5. Self coating (turtle wax graphene, apply every 2 weeks)

And also, i found out GDI will accumulate carbon inside the injector. So planning to use Techron fuel system cleaner every 5,000 KM.

Any others recommendations?

Do walnut blasting every 60k km or less.

Interesting approach, although Proton test period claim their unit does not have significant carbon deposit after 2 years of test but would love to see any owner who checked the condition especially those who clocked near 100k km
*
Maybe they are technically right if they consider 20k km per year. After 2 years only 40k km.

Didn't say mileage though...
yeah their 100k km can be anything... say 5 units X50 each clocked 20k km can also mean combined 100k km
And having carbon build up they still can downplay it being not threatening as the engine still running.
Yeah not denying it won't have just want to get a gauge often how much is considered serious around which mileage, I believe the build up is already there even when mileage <10k
*
In my other car, my practice is do walnut blasting every 60k km intervals.

Hi, I want confirm is that true only one smart key is given for X50 Standard?

Because my family just get a 2nd hand and the seller claimed that there is only one smart key.
*
For used car, if no spare key & service booklet.

I consider that as a red flag.

Anyway, willing seller willing buyer

Hoping someone here can help me verify, my x50 is an executive version, when cornering at higher speed like 90km/h, it'll make a sound that's like abs and i can feel the car being pulled back then followed by the klook sound near the brake/gas pedal (the sound that a lot of people hear during icc).  Brought my car to check and proton told me its normal and its a safety feature and what i was experiencing comes from the"motor brake pump", is it true?

ESC activation?

It doesnt have whistling sound before.
Wind noise ok la. But whistling is hmm unacceptable even for SUV. Especially when suddenly have sound. Haha

What year is your car?

Honestly I've never driven this car to even reach 160km/h, would not know if this issue was present.

Has anyone asked SC/Proton, whether X50 RC sound deadening can be applied to existing X50?
*
Most likely is a no.

I'm sure that any Proton SC is not equipped to handle such request.

But I still need battery recommendations, maybe buy online then ask SC install or outside shops.

QUOTE(sanakim @ Sep 16 2024, 09:16 PM)
Hi guys, I'm back with the tyre question.. Now my X50 FS is  at 45,000km and the tyre shop recommend to change because the tyre year make was in 45th week of 2020 and can cause "hardening after 3 years".. However, threadwear indicator still looks like ~1-2mm above the minimum threshold bump.

3 questions - appreciate if anyone using the Michelin tyres can weigh in..
1. Does this make sense to change? I'm hearing mixed opinions about this and the shop is bullshiting about the hardening
2. I have mostly decided to change to Michelin and don't plan to change rims. For the R18 rims spec, I found 3 suitable tyres - which do you recommend? My use case is 50% KL city driving, 30% drive to Selangor/PJ on weekends and 20% outstation roadtrips e.g. to Penang/Johor. I do enjoy spirited driving and prefer quieter tyres but tyre price and FC is less of a concern. Prices above from Michelin website before Shopee/Lazada sale.
A) Pilot Sport 5 235/50R18, est RM812/pc
B) Pilot Sport 4 SUV 235/50R18, est RM1308/pc
C) Primacy 4 215/55R18 (perfect fit), RM741/pc
3. I live around KL city center - any recommended shops besides TyrePlus and Lim Tayar?

Thanks so much, sifus!
*
You should observe in 4th year if there are any telltale signs. On 5th year highly recommended to change.

Among the 3 options, Primacy 4 should be the most quiet.

After checking battery twice before/after and 1 month after service, seems like battery in good condition, just false information I guess the other day.

What's the best comfort tyre for X50? I plan to get Primacy 4 (RM768/ea)
There's no Conti CC7 18 it seems, anyone know how does MaxContact performs for comfort?
*
Toyo Proxes CR1.

better comfort & less road noise than Michelin Primacy 4

Conti UC6 performance on rain should be much worse than Toyo CR1.

Toyo CR1 is available in 215/55R18 size
