QUOTE(Raja Utara @ Aug 6 2007, 10:31 AM) good thread...i'm also looking for a pedal board/bag. The Fab Tone kinda sounds like vintage fuzz...incredibly high gain but has a classic rock tone. Good thing about it is it can be used for bass coz it doesn't suck low end.nice collection kernel....how's the fab tone? pm me if u ever intend to let go of your flanger.... and for dark-kai...his extra pedals can easily fills another pedal-board itself... Sorry la RU I don't really intend to let go of it for the time being QUOTE(Mandeez @ Aug 6 2007, 11:13 AM) Well the order would be Weeping Demon -> Super Overdrive -> Overdrive/Distortion -> Fab Tone -> BF-2 Flanger. |

I think I might have to custom build a case for my Tone lab + a Wah and another case for my Whammy, Wylde Wah and ZW-44 Overdrive which is also expandable.....
I actually plan to split my signal through a A/B/Y box when I get my ceriatone JCM800 soon. I will pair the JCM800 with a Wylde Wah and ZW-44 Over drive (Getting the FREAKING EXPENSIVE MXR Chorus + EVH Phase90...... want to replicate Zakk's setup but throw in a Whammy as well) and then will pair my current Laney with the Tone lab and my GCB-90 Dunlop Wah..... Might get an SD-1 as an overdrive for the Tonelab.... or heck...... just another ZW-44.... So will use the Laney as my multi-sound rig and my JCM800 as my main Metal rig........ wooooooooooooooo........ drooling over it now........ Which brings me to my next question........ anyone can recommend a decent A/B/Y switcher? Tonebone is WAY too expensive. Currently looking at this: http://www.guitareffectspedals.com/startouch.html or the Morley one: http://www.zzounds.com/item--MLYABY This post has been edited by blacktrix: Aug 7 2007, 10:23 AM |

Yeah..... the Morley one is looking more and more tempting....... But apparently Tonebone also has a cheaper passive A/B/Y like the Morley........ A little more expensive then the Morley, but dunno if it's worth it.
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Rad...cher?sku=153931 But might get the Startouch if I find it in the states next year, as it has 9 volt dc jack...... don't have to swap batteries. Any other brands that you all know of that has a DC in? EDIT: Hmmmmmm..... the Morley one has quite bad reviews in terms of reliability.... might have to get the lower end tonebone instead. Why don't we provide aceejay a few clips to listen to and decide which one he wants?
I can provide the PODxt LIVE clips, Val/Rusty/EQ can provide the GTs, Blacktrix can provide clips of his VOX Tonelab SE... What do you guys think? This post has been edited by Rossie: Aug 8 2007, 09:23 AM |

Yup, it's a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power...
One of the best on the market, get the Pedal Power 2+, as it's able to power BOSS twin pedals (ie. DD20) and Line 6 pedals too... |

The Power Brick will show its ugly side when you try to power more pedals. Its output, although regulated, isn't isolated, unlike the Pedal Power 2 series, which provides noiseless power to multiple pedals, and you can even daisy chain the individual outputs of the PP2+ without the fear of any noise whatsoever, the Power Brick can't
Added on August 9, 2007, 10:22 pmAnd I might add, the WH4 needs AC voltage, not DC, as that is what the Power Brick is. You risk of blowing up your WH4 if you're not careful. This post has been edited by Rossie: Aug 9 2007, 10:22 PM |

Yeah... But normally it won't la, coz not even enough power to power up the circuit... But if it does, then your circuit will be fried...
Pay extra attention to the mA too if you do intend to find a multi adapter for all your pedals... |

I'm getting one the next time I'm going back to JB. As for the multi adapter, I'll keep it the way it is on the board before I can find someone that can do it professionally.
I'm still deciding on which size to get though, as my pedalboard isn't complete yet. There's the PT Jr., PT 2, and PT Pro. Here's the offcial site: http://www.pedaltrain.com/pt/about.html FYI, you can always purchase either the softcase or hardcase version, then opt to get the other hardcase/softcase separately later. |

hmm...that is neat...if i were to buy i wud go for the pedal train jr/sc.
about the multi adapter i think someone in jamtank can custom make it. the only problem is the fitting...hmmm a lot more cash to burn... |

But if your 1Spot can satisfy your needs, then no need any custom adapters... But if you do intend to expand your pedalboard to like a gazillion pedals, a regulated/isolated adapter is much recommended...

using one spot is fine...but it doesn't go well with my MI Audio. the 60 cycle hum is really bugging me...tried everything...changing the cables, switcing the pedals around....but the hum is still very noticeable. Does a noise gate eliminates this kind of hum? if so which one do u recommend...so far i've only came across NS2 (can try it out from my friend) and rocktron Hush pedal...but that one kindda expensive for a pedal that does nothing but diam2-ing your other pedals.

QUOTE(enteryourusername @ Aug 14 2007, 03:06 AM) Oh? Any sound clips to provide? Coz the last time I tried it, one of the channels sounded real heavy.Added on August 14, 2007, 11:22 am QUOTE(Raja Utara @ Aug 14 2007, 10:30 AM) using one spot is fine...but it doesn't go well with my MI Audio. the 60 cycle hum is really bugging me...tried everything...changing the cables, switcing the pedals around....but the hum is still very noticeable. Does a noise gate eliminates this kind of hum? if so which one do u recommend...so far i've only came across NS2 (can try it out from my friend) and rocktron Hush pedal...but that one kindda expensive for a pedal that does nothing but diam2-ing your other pedals. Even if you use your MIA CB only? For noise gate, the ISP Decimator is the best noise gate in a pedal before moving onto rack units. It's around RM500. But for that price, ever thought of getting a regulated multi adapter? The only one on the market right now is the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+, or else you'll have to get one custom made. battery and MIA CB stand alone will solve the issue. it's the power supply that's creating this noise. i'll see whether that guy can custom make the voodoo lab. or...ill just use the cheapo behringger noise gate....saw the clip in utube. quite effecient as anoise gate.

I think by getting a regulated power supply made would be more efficient, as it will most probably solve your problems in the long term.

I think sound clips would be the best to judge on which to get it. I've sent you some of my PODxt LIVE clips, if anyone wants to recommend you some other stuff, I suggest you requesting some sound clips from them to judge it yourself... I'll try to record some Muse-esque clips for you...

So you're saying it now sounds much more heavier than the stock DS1?
Double check with MA regarding the schematic. Strongly recommend that you go find a driller and fix that switch, so you can compare the stock DS1 channel with the other two channels on the fly, that way you can hear the difference, which is quite vast IMO... |

It's just a matter of sitting down and tweaking the unit imho. |

How about record something similar? So you can compare them.
As you want some Muse, why not the intro of Hysteria? |

I actually recommend The Pod XT Live if you're playing more heavier stuff........
I just like the ToneLab's crunch...... but Pod XT's Gain just can't be beat. |

Here's my setup... unchanged for the past 3 years.
![]() l-r: crap Fender amp, Zoom GFX-8, Zoom Tri-Metal, Jim Dunlop Crybaby. I've got another DOD Grind pedal, but not in the pic. I've been thinking of getting one of those newer Zoom 9.1 multieffects, but my baby daughter needs more money than me! |
