Hi,

From Feng Shui perspective, was wondering how do we define the day of 入伙.

If we have not move in, but we go to the new house and have an overnight gathering with friends. Does that consider already 入伙?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for your input.

Anyway my question was I have not move in, but i just go over to the house with friends... and hang around overnight... Do we consider that as already "Move-in/入伙" ?

Thanks.

First you should pick a "good" or prosperous date to move in. The definition of move in is that you need to stay overnight in the new house on that night. Prior to this you should perform the rituals on the specified time in that day that the fengshui master will tell you. There are the minimum requirements.

You may want to check with the Master if u can bring friends overnight on move in date. As far as I know the day time prayer only for the family that will stay in the house and no others. May be overnight stay can have guests but do ask
Before you even move in it is advisable that you do one prayer before doing your renovation. This is of course preceding the move in date.

Haha i know what you are talking about.
the idea is to 'announce' to the other world that you are officially occupying the place.
thus switching on all the lights, make it bright, lots of people make it ong yang>yin

so, ya you have already unvirgined your new house.
Dont be too superstituous lah. fengshui is a science of architecture and interior design. many 'masters' attempt to sell you something so have to justify it with superstition.

If u move in but no stove/no ready or never use the stove then this is not 入伙

入伙 mean when u move in the house a start a fire on your stove, at least boiled water.... then only consider as 入伙

Then you can find a good day to 入伙 in tung shing or those normal chinese calender mark as 'keat yat' (auspicious day)

Hi,

Thanks for your comment.

Actually I am not having friends on my move-in day. Sorry for my confusion...

Example of scenario is like...

1) house finish renovation, furniture is in. I have not move in yet. Planning to move in next month.
2) friends come over overnight tomorrow, just drinks and chit-chat overnight (lets say 10pm ~ 7am next day) And everyone leave...
3) then i move in one month later...

So i was wondering whether... number 2) is already consider as move-in from the fengshui perspective.

Thanks.

I see. This is not advisable. But that depends on your "superstition" level. Generally the day that you are moving in I presume will be a good auspicious day. But the day you and your friends going to stay overnight you don't know how good is the day (I am assuming). If your luck is good nothing will happen but you can be very unlucky as well.

It is better to stick to the moving in date and the rest follows that date. I used to be very skeptical about some of these until an incident happened to my ex house neighbor that convinces me that it is better just to follow some of these practices properly.

This is real bs.

Locks working? You might as well check nails are not rusty and all the items you can get in hardware store are working properly. How do you know if no termites? "Tiles no empty"???
The only one I heard of is stove must be working as you need to cook something and "open fire" for move in prayer. You need to on the lights but doesn't mean all switches must work.

Not recommended if u believe in fengshui and tradition. If u don;t believe then it is fine.
