you sounds like you're still pretty new to IT career?
less than 3 years working experience? correct me if I'm wrong

I have multiple specialist friends earning a monthly 5 figures salary here in M'sia, wonder how you arrived with that conclusion?

if you compare paid remuneration for a specialist in malaysia vs. someone in europe for exact same skill set, seniority and job scope, typically the one in malaysia is paid lesser however the lesser amount is by no means small laugh.gif

All of those are just titles, not a good indicator of "skill level" or "experience".

If you are a specialist you will definitely be paid well. If you're not, maybe you're not as specialised as you thought.

I've worked for 5 yrs and I hit 5 figures with less than 4 yrs exp. I'm not even a specialist. but what's so surprising about that? I'm looking at 250k per annum, not 10k a month, big difference.

not true at all, I've seen many paid 20k a month, I mean software manager not IT manager who in charge of IT infra and job scope like ensuring all laptop have the latest antivirus kind..
