One final hurdle stands between id Software's DOOM 3 source code and a public release, and it's the lawyers. The studio just needs to nail down legal specifics before launching it.

QuakeCon 2011 held the news that the source code would be set free after Rage's release in October. It'll allow player mods to be stand alone games in their own right.

It will make it much easier for fans to develop their own little game tweaks and fixes too, or even have a bash at some major gameplay overhauling of the hellish corridor shooter from id.

"DOOM 3 source is packaged and tested, we are waiting on final lawyer clearance for release,” twittered John Carmack. Hopefully id are still very busy tinkering with the latest update for Rage which is promised to soon support a greater array of graphics settings on PC, like forcing on higher resolution textures and effects.

Why would u want to get 120fps? Ur eyes cant differentiate anything higher than 60fps, 120hz is only for 3d where it will divide by 2 into 60hz 60hz for 3d usage as 3d gonna create 2 different image at once for different prespective and depth.
