Hi, want to ask if there is a difference plugging into the USB 3.0 port on the front panel of the PC compared to pluggin in on the 3.0 port directly to mobo at the back of PC.

Is there any difference?

Because i am using TPlink T4U Wifi adapter. When i plug into USB 3.0 front panel port, it will disconnect frequently.

Where is your WiFi router located? Is it clear path to the back of the PC or the front of the PC?

Not clear path to the back of the PC. But from front panel, it has a clearer path.

Maybe your body blocking and the body movement is causing disconnection? Why not try reposition or get short USB extension USB cable to put WiFi adapter elsewhere? Should not be too sensitive but you'll never know if you don't try smile.gif

If you have USB disconnection issues, it is very likely the front USB port is faulty. It could also be the cable that connects the front USB to the motherboard is faulty.

i used to use USB Wifi, plugging in on the front or back will have disconnection issues and sometimes the wifi is not even working. on USB3.0 since i wanted to connect to 5Ghz.... once read that USB3.0 ports have some kind of interference on WIFI recievers. Tried used USB3.0 ugreen extender, not very reliable, speed drops , not consistent. - DWA182 USB3.0 dual-band usb Wifi adapter.

Changed to PCI-E wifi card, it has been very stable since. using TP-link T9E

not much different but back port directly mount on mobo and front panel connected using cables.. in electronics.. shortest travel path is better than longer travel path.. long travel path may introduce noise or signal degradation. but its not really long in this case so the differences might be insignificant.
