You can’t actually calculate your AC power consumption by just looking at how many stars.
Where there is a best case and worst case depending on your room size and room temperature and the temperature you want to set You want worse case? Set the AC to 16 degree and it will be no different than a 3 stars rated AC for 300 sq ft room This post has been edited by squarepilot: Jul 5 2020, 12:41 PM |

QUOTE(shebbycs @ Jul 5 2020, 12:28 PM) Is there any other option instead of going to electric shop to see sticker ST Rating for Inverter aircond? It depends on your room size and what temperature you usually set.If you size the air conditioner too small for the room, you won't get benefits from inverter. If you always want the coldest possible, you won't get benefits from inverter. If you don't use air conditioning in a room very often, i.e. living room, dining room, etc. You can opt for non-inverter. |

QUOTE(shebbycs @ Jul 5 2020, 01:28 PM) Is there any other option instead of going to electric shop to see sticker ST Rating for Inverter aircond? Calculate you self below info from ST doc. B = Energy consumption per year for the lowest 2-Stars rating model = 365x8x(Tested cooling capacity(kW) / EERLowest 2-Stars model) Tested cooling capacity (W) = From test report EERLowest 2-Stars model = 9.56 Btu/hW (Cooling capacity <4.5 kW) in W/W = (9.56 x 0.2931) = 2.80 8.03 Btu/hW (4.5 kW ≤ Cooling capacity ≤7.1 kW) in W/W = (8.03 x 0.2931) = 2.35 Thus, B = 365x8x(Tested cooling capacity (kW) / 2.80) for Cooling capacity <4.5 kW or B = 365x8x(Tested cooling capacity (kW) / 2.35) for 4.5 kW ≤ Cooling capacity ≤7.1 kW |

QUOTE(RicoT @ Jul 5 2020, 01:20 PM) I see it can only list them by star, no mention the exact kWh rating. |

QUOTE(tvcat @ Jul 5 2020, 02:39 PM) You can use this to estimate.https://www.daikin.com.my/heat-calculator/ Whatever you keyed in here, you will get an estimation for the Btu/hr, put in extra 30% to the estimation, e.g. if it is 14000Btu/hr x 1.3 = 18200 Btu/hr Based on 18200 Btu/hr, you select the air conditioner. https://www.daikin.com.my/smarto/ Scroll down to the bottom to get the specifications for the models in this series. Based on the Rated Cooling Capacity, select the model. In this case, FTKH50AV1L (2hp) Inverter Rated Cooling Capacity (Btu/h) (Min-Max) = 19,000 (6,000-21,200) You need to check the Rated Cooling Capacity, as different different type of air-conditioning might have different Rated Cooling Capacity for various hp. tvcat liked this post
