P. Waja , year 2000 -PRIMARY MAIN PROBLEM: POWER WINDOW (obviously because a metal string is rolled on some stupid plastic roller. Isn't it obvious? metal string with plastic roller, SURE BREAK LAH! I would like to suggest to proton ppl: Use your brain!): Repairing this is troublesome. Especially when the plastic doors are amazing expensive. -Weird squeaking engine sound everytime when start in the morning -LIGHTS! SECONDARY MAIN PROBLEM! Especially the sides on in front, always blown up. If not blown, have to take out the cover and adjust the wires for it to function again. Very troublesome. braking causes the centre back light to only lit up when brake but not the 2 sides, recently happen.
P. Sage year 1990 -power window -door handle easily break -remote locking: PHAILED! oways spoil. -digital clock sot jor....everytime adjust, everytime sot. adjust oso no use. -reverse light oways blown
Conclusion: The main concern I juz wan to bring up is the Waja Front Side lights and waja and proton doors. The image of proton having low class doors, even worst compared to Tata or Iranian made cars. Their doors just can't freaking last long. Even my 1985 toyota door last longer...seriously PROTON: PHAILED

Hi, nice to have this thread here. Anyways, my dad owns a Proton Waja (2000) 1.6L. The problems are stated are below, hope to receive tips to fix or better yet overcome the problem.
1. Squeaking engine sound in the morning and during rainy days. 2. Petrol meter doesn't work properly. Sometimes it shoots to zero(Make me almost tiok heart attack nia) when there is still fuel. It fixes by itself but how to prevent this from happening once and for all. 3. The power window(Most common, I know). My dad says if you wind down or up the window by pressing it several times instead of one go, does it really increase the longevity of the windows? Or is there some other tricks to it?

Hi, I have a new saga bought end of last year and got some problem which i need to know the cause 1. The car (tyre i think) make sound when i turn. Is it alignment problem? The sound is squeaking sound as im using handbrake to drift 2. Sometimes when i turn the steering can hear as if paper is stuck behind it 3. Everytime I switch to reverse gear, always got crank sound.
