RECENTLY, I called the toll-free "i.care" number provided by Proton Edar Sdn Bhd to seek assistance and to air my problems, but was instead advised to email or write in.
I took delivery of a Proton Saga BLM in April 2008 and I had a few matters I needed Proton Edar to handle.
However, there was no reply to my email.
The following matters need Proton Edar's immediate attention:
- The first batch of Proton Saga BLM had rust stains on the drive shafts, which were not coated.
Why does Proton accept sub-standard parts from its vendors?
Is Proton going to recall the initial batch of cars and rectify the problem?
- My Proton Saga BLM had noises coming from the rear brake while reversing slowly, after about 20,000km of mileage.
When I complained about this problem, the service personnel at the authorised service centre did not attend to it.
Recently, I sent my car for periodic service and complained about this problem again.
They found that the rear brake pumps were faulty and replaced them. But I was billed for them.
Brake pumps malfunctioning at such a low mileage and with no warranty?
I hope the personnel at the service department of Proton can address the issues I have highlighted, not just for my benefit but for the benefit of all Proton Saga BLM owners.
