Hello guys,

Need ur advise on something. Lately the handbrake indicator (the '!' sign) on my Perdana V6 is always on whenever I i use my car. The car behaves normally, but the indicator doesnt seem to go off. Any ideas why?

Do I need to go SC to check, or normal workshop only is fine? Thanks. smile.gif

The sideskirt is fastened on both ends to the inside of the wheel well with screws.

Or do you prefer they drill more holes on your chassis instead of using adhesive?

Maybe go and look at how aftermarket sideskirts are installed?

Hi all sifus,

I own a 2005 Proton Waja Mitsubishi engine clocked about 200,000km. I planned to change the car next year. Recently, everytime i start to drive the car, the sound something like "mooooo.." (like the cow sound) come out from engine and i can feel jerking (like 3rd gear switch to 2nd gear suddenly). But this sound stop when after 10 minit of driving or I shift the gear from "D" to "3".

I suspect is the gear problem as i encounter similar problem three mths ago and the reason for that is the gear oil is leaking and already almost finish. The sound back then stopped after i change the gear oil seal and top up gear oil, not to mention a hefty RM500 repair.

THe sound problem come back recently. THis time i checked the gear dipstick... it shows gear oil is at FULL level.

Appreciate yr advice as i plan to go Cameron Highlands end of this mth, and i am not sure if my waja can go up or not.

THanks a million

hi guys,

anyone here know where to get original / OEM spark plug distributor assembly for my Proton Saga UK Spec 1.5 EFI Auto ?

the only ones i can find are reconditioned ones that does not supply enough power to the spark plugs and engine stalls easily...

before someone jumps to the conclusion that my plugs are faulty - i am using iridium plugs with high voltage cables that have been working fine with the previous original mitsubishi spark plug distributor.

My Persona recently having a rumbling noise at the mufflers. I also not sure is come from mufflers, but heard like come from the back.

When the car just start up in the morning, mostly will have this rumbling noise when the car start moving, is like the gas unable to pump out from the mufflers/exhaust pipe. Felt like the mufflers is hitting my car body but I check behind, it didn't...
I sent to Damansara SC last few weeks, and they recommended me to change the manifold, after changed still have this rumbling noise.

However, when the car driving in high speed, it won't have such noise, but it will appear again when the stuck in the jam, but the noise not as obvious as when the car just started after a long idle time.

Any expert here can give me some advise, I don't want to send the car to Proton SC again, and change another part but didn't fix the problem.

Urgently need advise because I don't want this issue further damage my car other part like possibly engine...

Engine : Convert to 4G93 SOHC ( Proton Putra 1.8 )
Gearbox : Wira 1.6 Manual ( Spoiled and Crack )

Problem :
I want to change my gearbox, which kind of gearbox that can fit my 4G93 SOHC ?
I am ready to fit this Perdana S.E 2.0 Manual gearbox back in but how sure that this gearbox will not making any problem again ?
Which, my 4G93 is 1.8 and my gearbox is 2.0 ? Is it going to fixed ?

My persona auto b-line "Check Engine" indicator light suddenly turned "ON" while I was driving today. Car still able to run slowly and keep on mowing with uncontrolled gear and cannot brake either; quite dangerous. Finally rest stop. Try restarting, engine running but when gear is engaged, it jerked with noisy gear sound and move a little.
Call Proton which speculated something to do with ECU / electronics and was asked to remove battery connector (-ve) to reset the system and reconnect after 15 minutes. After reconnecting, light was gone and manage to drive again. Worried but will be heading to workshop for a thorough check.
My pesona is 2008 100k mileage and just changed 4 tyres and front brakes a day before.
Anyone encounter such problem before and mind to share 2nd opinion?

previously mine also check engine light on sometimes and engine no power and gear switch to safe mode.. upon checking its throttle sensor faulty..replace it so far so good. probably u can head to any service center and tell them to use pdt device to check what went wrong.. do not disconnect the battery as it might erase the error code found when the check engine light on....get it check...around rm60bucks for checking... good luck.

Hi,

I owned Proton Saga FL (aged one & half years old & mileage 15k).

I wanted to ask anyone actually experienced the sound of "metal brushes with metal" by the rear tyres. It only happened when i drive my car early in the morning at a slow speed. The sound also can be heard when i stepped on my brakes.

May I know what am I supposed to do with it ?

I went to a mechanic shop nearby to ask and was told perfectly normal.

Thanks.

Most probably from your rear drumbrakes. my bet is they are jammed.

Jack up your rear wheels, release handbrake and try to spin the wheel.

Got the car checked with Proton diagnostic tool i.e. computer and they found two error messages.
Was told that ECU was reset to original settings and after few days of usage, no problem liau.
Not sure when this ECU problem will pop up again.

Thanks les Incredibless.
