Was driving my dad Aeroback previously... 10yrs old... only gearbox problem... no power window issue also... good condition when sold

Sold it Aeroback and bought S.neo - works like a charm - no issues at all I can say. Stock car somemore no mod. 5yrs

Now Proton Persona - just got it last week. And all those weird sound that some PE owner is complaining about, non on my car. So far so good.

Proton is ok, depends on luck, but we see/hear so many complaints is also because there are more proton cars on da road compared to other cars.

anyway, NEVER buy the 1st generation/release/batch of any Proton models that come out, that will always some sort of weird problem that will be rectified in future batch.

Just my 2cents

i own waja a little bit older than u,1.6 campro without E
about item 1, i dont think its ur fault, nor prtn coz rarely heard waja exhaust manifold kaput, only for gen2,yes. But change twice, fuyoo, unlucky for u,do u like to rev kau kau?

Item 2,i'm quite lucky,no prob in mine.

Item 3,absorber,it is due to wear n tear, n depend on road condition n how u drive the car. If u check, normally recommended to change absorber is 40k, but,it can last longer,if 80k,recommended to change, depend, mine, lucky again,no need to change. My question, when u do allignment, did u ever do camber using camber nut?if yes,it is ur fault.

Item 4,not ur fault, its mitsu design fuel pump for waja. Actually, u cant wait until the fuel low light to appear coz it is to low,so,fuel pump will suck air too much, coz motor overheat n kaput. Solution, when only one bar left, refill the fuel. Thats why newer prtn cars has early blinking for fuel warning.

Item 5,plug cable, dunno what happen, r u using ngk r type of spark plug or others?

Item 6, depend on luck, rare problem unless when they change the brake oil@bleeding,to much air bubble traps inside@ not change oil according to schedule n used dot 3,better used dot 4.

Item 7,front disc brake,is it the pad@the disc? Do u used ori brake pad when u change the pad? Ori means buy at prtn sc@spare part shop? Bcareful of immitation. N check wheter use correct oil n change according to schedule.

Item 8,aircond,of course when the time come u need to service, but it is advisable to clean pollen filter every 40k,just the filter.

Item 9,rear arm bushing, due to wear n tear, not a problem.

Item 10, 2 sets of timing belt? U shud change atleast 3 sets of timing belt coz u shud change it every 80k@3 years which ever come first, but better stick to mileage, unless rarely drive, every 5 years need to change coz it is belting, made from rubber, same as tyre, every 5 years need to change.

Item 11,4 petrol filters, u shud change atleats 5 petrol filters coz the change is every 40k km, u r now exceeding 200k. So,normal, not a problem.

Based on ur complaint,i guess whether u servicing ur car at dealer sc@bwh pokok workshops. Some are due to change coz wear n tear, some are faulty like power windows, mines always service at branch sc,they service it every 40k for power window like check the rubber n oiling it. Dunno outside workshop do that.
Some maybe the owners fault. Maybe u can give some insight about place that u service ur car?
By the way its already beyond 200k km, the maintenace also not according to shedule, if fight in court, sure lost.
Im driving more than 11 years, 15 years actually, all cars has problems,if not maintain it properly,it give u a headache.
Have u change the cam valve seal cover every 40k? I think not.
The best way is get rid ofurwaja n buy another marque,ur problem solved or maybe getting new problem from new car.

For pwrwindows, yup, main problem drg that time, now, no more.

That bolded part of statement seems kinda very prejudiced view!! doh.gif
In 1st place, why did yu decide 2buy a Proton? tongue.gif

Aircon vents give way? Depends on how one treats them... whistling.gif

My ole Proton of 20+ years was in better condition than some much more xpensive makes!! After also 200+k Km travelled!!

Love & treat yr car well & it'll repay yu similarly in kind...NVR expect the impossible! thumbup.gif

certainly did not mean to convey anything with prejudice, just pure frustration because my dad's 15 yr old iswara runs just good..air cond vents arent falling off, although clocked almost 500K already and yet being a person who handles stuff gently esp car stuff, air cond vents gave way.

I'm good with proton cars. For me they are alright, drive-able, and the design appeals to me especially the new Saga.

Feel I misjudged yr statement...my sincere apologies... notworthy.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

In such cases, we can only put it down as pure "bad luck"... rclxub.gif
And consider that it was juz a minor & easily rectified faulty part.
Wish yu all the best in other aspects...enjoy yr ride! thumbup.gif

ps. I now also hv a Saga 1.3FL Exec Auto. So far so good...touch wood... tongue.gif

to anyone who owns a saga fl,

i have two issues with my car. 1) my steering horn cover rattles each time i make a turn. 2) the driver door panel also rattles when driving on poor road conditions.

i have sent to the proton service outlet twice to get them fixed and all they 'claim' they did was to 'tighten' the screws.

it is now better, but both areas still rattle on rare and random occassions. i am disappointed with proton quality and service.

my worry is the problem will come back again in future.

anyone with similar experience and hopefully can share if there is any success in solving it.

Most (if not all...) cars "rattle" or hv some noises somewhere or @some time. Even those one pays 2+X the price!!
Of course, less of such probs in hi-end/luxury cars...considering wat yu pay for them! Haha!

If sounds yu hear are only soft or intermittent & yu can tolerate them, juz accept & mayb turn up yr music vol 1 notch. tongue.gif

If kenot, then yu need 2get yrself sweaty & dirty 2slowly investigate/eliminate probable sources.
This no SC ppl hv the patience nor time 2do!!
As long as it's not due2 possible/known causes that can lead to risk of life or failure of an important sys....sorry la... whistling.gif

Do try 2enjoy the good points of yr ride...for the reasons yu bought it... icon_rolleyes.gif
