Hi everyone,

I like to get an advise and input from all here regarding sound card. I came to conclusions that my motherboard built in sound chipset no longer working. Already reinstall the driver and also change from windows 7 to Windows 10. Recently i bought the USB sound adapter and sound quality not really good as per built in chipset.

May I know what is sound card or any usb sound device that can produce a similar sound quality like realtek? I'm not willing to invest on creative/xonar sound card. It overkill to my ears. Please suggest what an option I have.

the onboard realtek chip is one the worse sound that i have heard.. any pci sound sound performs better in term of sound quality or you can also consider USB DAC and it will be easier to state out your budget also.. so we can advise accordingly..

Yes realtek built in ia not the best but acceptable from my point of view. However the usb adapter even worse. My budget 100+ still okay. If more than that i just leave it or replace motherboard instead.

I have an experience with sound blaster card before but very old one. It use Isa slot in year 1999. I know the different. But current model of sound blaster is really out of my reach.

usb plug to pc, there is optical out and coax out. ignore.
there is a 3.5mm jack. use that. there is also buttons for volume up and down.
your pc side will show as soundcard.

as bonus, you can also plug into your phone usb.

Can I know which USB sound adapter did you get? You check the DAC AMP recommend section in the forum. This guy got a SMSL M3 for RM200 in Lazada if you’re interested.

The Realtek AC1220 is quite nice, better than my external USB Asus Xonar U3 and similar to Xonar U7.

Thank you guy's. I bought this

The older Realtek AC8xx series on budget board isn’t that great.

Thank you guys. I bought this Plextone. Maybe i need to figure out how much i must tune the volume in pc and the adapter.

Didn't wait 7.7? Cheaper by few ringgit.

Anyway, you want something that sound good with volume knob, can be sound card / DAC for your PC but also can be DAC for your phone and also can be standalone music player, and it have internal battery so it can be portable? All this thing yet it cost just RM100-ish. Search for Zishan Z2 at lazada/shopee/aliexpress. It even have EQ if you're into that sort of thing. And when you level up into tinkering you can even change it's op-amp such as to MUSES02.

I will have a look. My purpose is to make my pc have a sound. I found Creative sound card at Lazada price around RM175. If unknown pci sound card model like C media good enough, im okay with it.

How about this model Shopee?
