Hi Folks,

I have a 100w bookshelves passive speaker and a car woofer which is passive and is rated at 400w 4ohm single voice coil.
I'm interested with this mini amplifier sell in shopee.
https://shopee.com.my/AIYIMA-TPA3255D2-Ampl...981iAX2f73dhFrA

i wanted to get two units of them to maximize the output at least 300w. This amp has a switch in front that can change between speaker and sub.

Question is, can the 1st amp subout channel connect to second amp as input? example this diagram.

i did look at those 2.1 but the woofer output is rated at 100w. The woofer i have is rated at 300-400w. Do you think 100w can push 300w?

yes and no.. normally speaker will have their working range wattage. only active speaker they will give the wattage number driving the speaker. 300w sounds like max recommended wattage

for example i am pulling a spec for dali epicon

Product series EPICON
Frequency Range (+/-3 dB) [Hz] 35 - 30,000
Sensitivity (2,83 V/1 m) [dB] 89.0
Nominal Impedance [ohms] 5
Maximum SPL [dB] 112
Recommended Amplifier Power [W] 50 - 500

But since you are asking in audiophiles section, i will recommend to drive your speaker with amp > speaker wattage. If your speaker is 200 w you can get 300 w amp to drive

Alternatively, you can consider subwoofer amp like below:
user posted image.

direct input from source and output to your passive speaker and at the rear of the amp there's a speaker wire for your subwoofer. the problem its this is, you might need to find and enclosure if not you can customize your car subwoofer to put this directly to your subwoofer box.

Hmm it says Peak Power is 600w and Nominal Power is 300w. It didn't mention about amplifier range. Haiz

if i were you i might want to give up the idea. you can get a decent subwoofer with proper power amp. you are using a dc adapter that limit to 12v 20v might not be sufficient for work load like this.. playing at home also will be different from car as you need more room to cover... thus you might ended up running in higher volume (power hungry)..

but lets see what other shifu can help

What if i get let say 300w 2 ohm DVC woofer and wiring it to 4 ohm. Will i get 150w from the woofer?

Will this be a better load for 100w amp? Maybe 75w based on the adapter I used. Say 35v 5a power adapter.

You can but it will affect something, I guess the volume might go down. It’s like wiring two bulbs in parallel to a power source with constant power. It’ll get dimmer the more bulb you wire together because each bulb will want to pull a certain amount of power from the power source. If the source can’t provide enough power they’ll be dim.

There’s a reason subwoofers have high power requirements, they move a lot of air. The cones need to fight against that air resistance as well as its own movements from the audio source.

You can certainly try powering the woofer with that amp but I don’t know to what extent. At reasonable volume levels it could be enough. People power speakers with low powered tube and class A amps with 10-25W power all the time.

I'm pushing my JVC CSGD-1210 DVC wired on 8 ohm with that aquarium plastic amp shown up there. Though you won't get full power but to me it is more than loud enough
Small bedroom so yeah innocent.gif

I would buy other 2.1 TPA3116D2 amp if can. Preferably those with sub crossover.
This aquarium looking amp has a pretty high crossover of I think 250-300Hz so vocals definitely leak into the sub

bro, seriously, your JVC woofer is rated at 400w 4ohm DVC right? So you make it 8ohm then it cut half to 200w right?
then the 100w (50w at 8ohm) amp able to push 200w woofer at reasonable bass?

You're not gonna see visible cone movement but yes I can get it up to lalazai bass bumps in my small room. Just louder than I prefer.
For movies with rumbles and explosions its pretty cinematic feel.
My sub is in some prefab slotted port box. Nothing special about my box. Jalan pasar quality stuff

But definitely nowhere near chest bumping. That will make the sub sound like clipping a bit. Which I think is not healthy for the coil. mega_shok.gif
