latest is R1J. R1E is the 1st firmware. time to update if you dont mind about customizing your phone

morning everyone!! yesterday i checking out the W880i at sony station, still prefer my W850i cause the keypad are the cons for tis phone

i prefer keypad gap like W900i.

em.. when i plug in the usb there are two modes rite?
FILE TRANSFER or PHONE MODE.

i've choosen the PHONE MODE but seems like no response on my pc le..
i would like to synch my contact in my pc to my phone..
pls help..

You got install the PC-Suites before you plug in the USB cable ?

And

Does your phone work properly in File Transfer mode ?

ya, mine got balloon saying not installed properly when using phone mode. i think u try to use file transfer mode, it should be ok.

Hi guys, i'm not W850i user yet.
I have some questions:
1) I read some user opinions in gsmarena that D-pad is very fragile and easy to crack?
How u guys think?
2)The slide will lose after many times open and close?

1. ya, the cracking problem always bother w850i user, but the latest batch don have this problem already. Just be more careful when pressing the d pad, it should be no problem. anyone who using the 07batch cracked? pls share.
2. try not to slide the phone when not necessary.

anyone knows how 2 dissamble the phone. i wanna take out the number pad..

btw, any programs 2 make my phone sound louder besides increasing the equilizer thingy?

From your software code there ... we can know that you now using R1GB001 version of firmware..... (Latest firmware is R1JG001)

Update firmware is an optional.. not a must.

Yes i did installed the PC SUITES in my pc..
Yes work properly in the FILE TRANSFER mode wor...
can detect as hardisk lo...
but in Phone Mode cant wor..

Not so old actually....is just 1 version older...

Notice... in version R1GB001 ... there is a special thing " Walkman orange light effect trick"

but if you upgrade to latest version R1JG001.... the special trick will no longer work anymore...


About what the latest firmware had fix.... this...i not sure 100%...
but confirm got fix "Huge Size Video hang during video preview problem at file manager."

So...if you still need the walkman orange light effect.... then just use the old firmware no need upgrade...

sh*t happen last saturday to my phone front skrin cracked when i fell of my bike does anyone know where can i get the original casing for replacement or only the glass screen?

Well i last time facing problem in Phone Mode too... ..but my one different abit....
transfer until half way... connection DC....

but wat i do is upgrade firmware to latest... and off the phone, unplug battery and re-plug again.... problem not so often liow...but still exists.....

Most of the user here advise me use File transfer mode....

use PHONE MODE with PhoneExplorer.BEST!! Dont use with the software they provide.
