This discriminates users who are currently on monthly Big Bonus 28 plan or Next 15 plan (paying lesser than RM30/mth). Other telcos also have similar restrictions too.

Currently have more than 60GB of rollover data (Bigbonus 28 5+2gb with unlimited calls) on the number that I wish to redeem.
My data usage is mainly on the 2GB part of the plan (sometimes on the main data bucket), Bigbonus daily 1Gb and also the free 2.5Gb/week Prepaid live data.
Might consider for other deals.

Anyone who get the Unlimited High Speed Internet add on
for RM15 on their BOS and try subscribing to this deal? Does it have FUP and restrictions on hotspot connectivity? I didn't subscribe to it as I probably didn't need this due to using Yes Prihatin SIM, multiple back up SIMs and also Unifi 100Mbps at home. This number is mainly for voice and some data connectivity.

rm15 per day ?

My guess is until the end of the monthly internet plan subscription as it is an add on. If it is RM15/day people won't bother to subscribe that (as there are much better deals available out there from various telcos, even Digi offers "unlimited" all day internet at RM8 with 20GB FUP).
Important informations such as FUP, restrictions are unknown for this add-on. How do you expect people to subscribe if no much information is available.

My mom's Digi plan has automatically activated the RM15 plan illegally where she didn't subscribe at all. Can I complain regards to that issue?

The issue is however, the balance for the mobile credit itself is deducted. And it is supposed to be used for all kinds of plans that is approved by Jaringan Prihatin.

The network integration of CelcomDigi network in my area (JB West/Skudai) has now completed.

I noticed that they are now running 2X B3 carriers, 10MHz on B8, and no more B7, not even the former Altel spectrum (as the existing holdings of B7 will be handed back to MCMC).

Of course there is now a 50213 - CelcomDigi, can be shown as MY CELCOM 3G on the 2G network. For the 4G network, it seems like that CelcomDigi still separates Celcom (50219) and Digi network (50216) - although they are running on single infrastructure, so that no major changes are needed on existing devices - which can ended up losing features like VoLTE, Vowifi.

And the 4G speeds post integration has reduced significantly, from the handsome 400Mbps to just 70Mbps.

The speed on merged CelcomDigi 4G in my area is now even slower - I can just get around 10-15Mbps 4G speeds on download. (Upload - around 20-30Mbps, a sign of severe network congestion)

And note that this was on the late afternoons, not peak periods (7pm-11pm).

Well I have Maxis, Unifi fixed/mobile internet as backup - may consider porting out soon if the situation continues.

port out to which telco?

Maybe Maxis, Yes, U Mobile, Unifi Mobile - these are the options available.
If coverage is needed the only viable alternative (right now) to CelcomDigi is Maxis. Wanted to use the Yes Rahmah package but their 4G and 5G coverage is still hit and miss - especially rural areas.

There are not much choice really as the popular MVNOs (TuneTalk, Redone, XOX) are using the CelcomDigi network that is already slow in my area. MVNOs have lower priority and slower speeds than the main network - so not really a choice for me.

It is really frustrating to use the CelcomDigi merged network - 5Mbps (or less) peak time speed on the so called "4G+" - it was few hundred Mbps before that! We were promised faster speeds post merger but this is what I get - good coverage with poor speeds.

In my area, many are using mobile data for their day to day internet use (rather than fixed infrastructure like fibre - even when it is readily available) - this made the already bad condition even worse.

indeed, celcomdigi after integration didn't perform well atm,  have you tried digi 5G? if the speed still under perform guess need to either go maxis or yes then, thinking yes for main and hotlink pantas as backup laugh.gif
*
I have tried other providers 5G (Hotlink, Unifi - as they are using the same infrastructure anyway) but not Digi's 5G as I don't really want to swap from Prepaid Live to newer prepaid rate plans. There is nothing to try other than the ultra expensive RM48 5G package anyway - which I don't want to.

QUOTE(hjh87 @ Sep 29 2023, 01:19 AM)
I feel the same way, I believe they intentionally slow down 4G to encourage the adoption of 5G.
In my hometown, I've tested both 4G and 5G networks. Digi's 4G is slightly more stable than U Mobile, and when it comes to 5G, Digi remains the fastest compared to U Mobile.
*
Maybe - but I have tested Maxis 4G and 5G, and they are perform just as fast.
Even Unifi 4G (with the expensive non expiry package - not unlimited
packages) is faster than CelcomDigi 4G.
As you said, CelcomDigi may intentionally slow down their 4G network to encourage 5G adoption. Sometimes proper 4G+ (not those purposely throttled network) can beat 5G in terms of speed and stability.
I can feel the slowdown on speedtest on 5G nowadays on congested areas (like nearby Paradigm JB - I could get just around 200Mbps.

Well - the message regarding the network upgrade completion should be already sent to you.

The "upgrade" is more like an downgrade in terms of network quality for me.

CelcomDigi did reuse ALTEL's 2600MHz spectrum, maybe your area/tower they decided to not use B7 or CelcomDigi steered heavily towards other bands

Here is one of the CelcomDigi's TSSR (Technical Site Survey Report) found on Scribd.
*
Maybe it is my location/network mast design in my location which focuses on B3/B1/B8 only - I can no longer lock to LTE B7 after the upgrade, if I attempted to lock to that band in my area, it will default to 2G GSM 50213. I think someday they will update it given the poor speeds here.

Even I was able to lock that - the signal is too weak to be useable here.

Well - when I attempt to port out from Digi, a mysterious credit appeared in my account and my port out attempt failed (even when it is a prepaid service!)

Even with that mysterious credit - I still want to port out to other telco regardless - as I no longer want to use CelcomDigi services.

Yes Rahmah 35 with device (Samsung galaxy M14 5G)

I have Maxis and Unifi Mobile as a backup to Yes' lesser coverage and also in malls/buildings.

Oh YES. I got one prepaid line for that and the coverage not that good but still ok. How your unifi mobile? thinking of porting to unifi5g prepaid line for RM35 per month. My digi postpaid package currently at RM50 per month with free call and 70gb data/hotspot. Planned to port out since I think it is Bulls** to pay another 10 ringgit to get 5g access.
*
So far my experience on Unifi mobile is quite good and since they started to share the network with Maxis - you should experience better 4G coverage in some areas that may previously have no coverage.

But note that 4G on unlimited plan is capped at 5Mbps (5G is uncapped, I have tested and can get up to 700Mbps DL speed with one of the unlimited plans) and there is 60GB FUP on it.

Always purchase a prepaid card before porting to test out their network in areas you frequently go.

How about their 5g line? last time in sabah, my colleague using unifi mobile and said that the 5g coverage is quite good but when inside the hotel, the signal are only at 1 or 2 bar.

Yea plan to buy and test it. thinking of subscribing to cheaper package since my house and office are on unifi. so out of my monthly 70gb data, I only only utilize around 10-30gb every month.
*
5G line is the same regardless of telco. But in my usage scenario, I find that Unifi has more stable 5G when compared to Maxis

Tempted to port out from digi, but the limited hotspot data make me think twice. I use around 10-15gb of hotspot per month for my son/daughter. Planned to use that RM35 prepaid package but the hotspot data is only 5gb per month.

Digi, RM60 = free call+70gb 4g/5g data and can also be use for hotspot. Is it worth to port out to unifi5g?
*
This depends on your needs. If you think that your current Digi Postpaid can satisfy your needs and you are satisfied with the service, then feel free to stay with Digi.

Anyone has issues on unable to use VoLTE/VoWiFi on Digi prepaid? I asked for reasons regarding unable to use VoLTE for my mom's number and they ask to change SIM, even after changing SIM, the VoLTE/VoWiFi indicator still doesn't exist.
