rclxm9.gif Welcome to the 18TH version of the thread. rclxm9.gif
Last version can be found HERE

Digi's network
Digi operates 2G GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 3G WCDMA/HSPA+ & 4G LTE/LTE-A network.

Details of LTE

Digi's LTE currently runs on 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2100Mhz and 2600MHz.
The former offers great coverage indoors & outdoors and can be identified with their cell ID in the range of 20X, the latter offers much better capacity & speed, albeit with much worse coverage. It can also be identified with the cell ID in the range of 10X.
Digi's LTE-A network combines this two network bands to achieve theoretically double the speed of regular LTE.
Digi's 900Mhz provides much better coverage than both 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz and aims to improve indoor coverage.

Requirements
To use LTE, there are three requirements, a 4G-LTE enabled SIM Card, a 4G-LTE capable mobile device and you have to be within Digi's LTE network.
To use LTE-A, you need a LTE-A capable device and be within their LTE-A coverage area.
To check whether your SIM card is 4G-LTE compatible, simply SMS
LTE or lte to 20000

Here is their network coverage page.

To those that have 4G+ or LTE-A on their phone, what is your CA band ? b3 + b7 ? or b7+b8 ? Would like to hear your answers tq !
*
So far mainly B3+B7, haven’t really seen B8 used for CA on my phone.

i dont feel its necessary to recreate a new topic when the old topic only reach around 350 pages..

i am wondering the justification of doing so.

i myself has tracked a topic with over 2000 pages, therefore, i know topic with over 2000 page isnt the limit and its very possible

The thread is one year old and some may find it hard to navigate through so many pages. While there isn't really any set rules as to have large a thread should/can be, it is still better to keep it more organised. However if many prefer keeping everything to a single thread I'll do that.

EDIT: To add on, I used to do it much sooner in the previous few versions. See v10 - v16
EDIT2 : V17 was created 6 months after v16 and v18 is 12 months after V17. Do let me know everyone's preferences in regards to the thread length wink.gif

Malaysia plans to shut down 3G by 2021

https://www.lowyat.net/2020/220338/malaysia...t-down-jendela/

How does the gov expect everyone to have 4G & VoLTE capable phones? 4G probably might be OK but VoLTE might be a real problem...

Well, they managed to shut down analogue TV broadcast.  There'll be some people caught out for sure, but they'll all need to buy new devices, no choice.  Maybe the government should subsidise the upgrade from non-4G phones to 5G phones.
*
I think subsidy for 5G phones abit impossible, 4G VoLTE capable phones maybe...

QUOTE(saitong09 @ Aug 29 2020, 10:48 PM)
Means 2G still available?
*
I think not, but i havent found any reliable source reporting about this yet

Malaysia government really doing upside way. Other countries shutdown 2G, maintain 3G bt our country shutdown 3G and maintain 2G?

If you say 2G is still using the machine-to-machine (M2M) for those using commercial and business purposes. I think can't make sense. Compare from nearby country Singapore, they already shutdown 2G bt maintain 3G. So is means that they don't use so called M2M and IoT for commercial and business purposes anymore?
*
Same, I'm wondering why 3G and not 2G, spectrum used by 2G is way more valuable than 3G, and when phones fallback to 3G the internet is atleast some what usable, but if u were to switch your phone to 2G, basically can't do anything except calls.

Well yes, but not everyone staying in deep rural areas can afford Connectme.
They've increased their monthly plans already, you know? No unlimited plans anymore..

KUALA LUMPUR (April 8): Celcom Axiata Bhd, a unit of Axiata Group Bhd, is merging with Digi.Com Bhd to create the biggest mobile service provider in Malaysia, according to sources familiar with the telcos.

This time round it is the merger of the operations in Malaysia, unlike the previous mega-merger plan that Axiata and Digi.Com’s parent Telenor had previously tried to merge the operations in Asia region.

It seems real this time, press con will be held this afternoon.

so they’ve gotten gov’s approval???

best news ever..
so Digi plans maintain  rclxm9.gif

if so then what are the main benefits of this merger to the consumer? will the two networks merge but with different plans under the respective telcos? or is it mainly for backbone/infrastructure sharing?

I have some urgent question here.

1. Handphone shop are close and not label as service ? how does those elderly going to top up or fix their phone is spoil ?
2. Free 1GB daily data still work after 6pm ? Some elderly will take away food at 7pm but if 6pm cannot use data , how to scan my sejahtera ? This question may be ask before buy I forgot.
3. Does Digi have any Online pay per use data ? let say at 7pm really no free 1gb data , can use digi pay per use ? Some of elderly use old package of digi v1-4 with rm38 1 year.
What about those old package Digi 38 New, Digi Postpaid 58 and Digi Postpaid 80 ?
https://www.digi.com.my/support/postpaid/di...-postpaid-plans

If cannot , can change package which eligible then apply for the discount ?

Hey there, I am not affiliated with Digi in any way so I can’t directly address your queries. Their official channels are through FB,twitter, their live chat and calling them.

As for question 1, I feel that itself is beyond the control of Digi…

For question 2&3, I’m not well versed in these topics and would let the others answer it for u. FYI, Mysejarahtera works without internet IIRC.

Hi, want to ask, how does the PhoneFreedom 365 actually works? I mean, what's the catch? Currently I'm subscribed to the old Digi Infinite 150. Can continue with the old plan and get a phone under the PhoneFreedom? Tried the online store, it seems like they ask me to sign for the new Postpaid 150.
*
I dont think you can maintain your current Infinite 150, have to sign up for a new plan AFAIK
