is this card any good? At one glance, the deal is superb, and i use shopee super alot.

Anyways, applied already and got approved on the day itself. lol.

I’m not 100% sure yet but I often use Shopee to buy stuff. In a way, it’s still a cashback card thingy but only useable for future Shopee purchases. At the end of the day, you’ll be your own judge whether the cashback tied only to Shopee is worth it or you prefer other cashback cards that provide more flexibility.

I’m wondering if anyone has asked this.

On 28th, we are eligible for 5x coins. But what about if the listing already has 10% cashback. Are these two rewards eligible to be claimed together or we must choose either one?

I am planning to use this card to pay Great Eastern insurance premium, hopefully can earn 1X Coins, better than 1X TreatPoint.

The FAQ has the answer.
Any cashback earning transaction will not earn any Coins or TreatsPoint.

2-5% depending on promo periods.

While Shopee’s more common 10% cashback is miles better, not all sellers are offering it. Whereas this 2-5% cashback is always there if you use the card for Shopee purchases.

Thanks for that. If you are spending in Shopee all the time it does seem like a good card because you get extra coins on special days, other times not so much as compared with Maybank FCB.

To add on after reaching the cap, your spending will be rewarded in terms of treatpoints instead.

Apply this card or continue using fcb card for shopee purchase?

I would say if you use Shopee very often and don't mind paying RM25 per annum, then go for it.

If seldom use Shopee, and your FCB cashback does not reach monthly cap, then I'd say stick with FCB.

Pros:
- 1 more latest CC to brandish
- 1 extra source of point earning / cashback roughly averaging to about 2.x% depending on timeline / other factors
- Shopee might have extra discount codes for Shopee MBB CC holders during campaigns
***MIGHT MIGHT MIGHT have priority dispute case handling by Shopee CS???? THIS IS PURELY SPECULATION, WILL UPDATE IF TURNS OUT TO BE THE CASE

Cons:
- Shopee points may expire
- FCB cashback not fully utilised
- Extra avenue for you to bleed cash
- Extra RM25 per annum
- Extra stuff to do if card goes missing / extra card = extra chance of fraud

that's what i can think of right now

Go to Shopee app/website and sure won't miss it. "Apply & Get 5,000 Shopee Coins" showed there. Get Extra RM500 shopee vouchers for early bird offer from 1 - 7 July 2020.

Beside, Maybank website got all info listed.

Additional points for those who are hesitating whether to apply:

I believe this card is only good for those who can spend average RM200 monthly on Shopee Mall / Preferred seller.
You can only redeem coins on these sellers, capped at 25% of the purchase value.
Monthly coins capped at 5000 from Shopee Card = RM50 (25% of RM200), excluding those you earned directly from shopee.

Of course it is better to spend on 28th / special day to utilize the 5%.
Else you get only 2%, which is equivalent to Barcelona card.
Shopee card is also useful for those who already max their Barcelona monthly CB, as well as Amex 5% weekend.

For Shopee heavy user, go for it.
Else, I will suggest to stick to your Amex and Barcelona.
For those who max the above (and other bank CB cards), this is another source to earn more CB in the form of shopee coins.
