Few years ago I took a cruise ship going through Yangtze ....cruise for one week with multiple stops along the way to 3 gorges dam.

When the ship reaches the dam area around 7pm
It took the whole night to go through it.
Going through it is amazing.... Going through a few layers of chambers. Huge chambers that could fit a huge cruise ship. One chamber took about 1 hours to fill up so that the ship can move to another chamber which is on higher elevation. Amazing engineering.

By the time the shop reaches the other side of the damn..it's about 1am.

Quite interesting. It was under relianse holiday.

I still remember the noise and sound when our cruise ship were going through the chambers.

I sat on the top deck the whole night to experience this.
