Hi all,
I am a finance fresh graduate wanting a career in the proprietary trading industry (particularly trading the equities). I have been researching some job postings on the internet but there are very limited options available. There are stockbroking firms that specialize in trading either Bursa or HKEX. My question is which market will be the best for day trading? Which company will provide sophisticated training for you to become a profitable trader?
Besides, Tactical Hedge is a prop trading firm I recently found. It looks like they are quite a pro in this industry, but they trade futures not equities. Do you think trading the futures is a better option to go?
The information available is so limited on the internet. Hence, it will be great if someone can share their experience with me..

Most firms won't let fresh grads do investment decisions. Your best bet is to join as a research analyst. Alternatively, you can work few years in audit then join an investment bank/research house.

QUOTE(workinghard @ Jun 28 2020, 02:44 PM) What about PDT job postings that only consider fresh graduates? Honestly, there's like non. Which firm gives a fresh grad their money to trade? Also, a person they hardly know for 3 months?

QUOTE(workinghard @ Jun 28 2020, 04:58 PM) Thanks! I have been going to interview and just looking for more advice. Don’t do what others do.. only click click click.. apply online... Hav u ever try to call the company to ask about the job posting? U can start the conversation by saying u want to know about job posting.. ask to route from general call to HR department. U may get turn down few times.. never stop trying.. if u manage to connect to HR, do you best for the 30 elevator seconds pitch...

If you are really interested to be a PDT, you should start now and don't wait.
Register an account with the license broker Trade and keep all the invoice. If you are really good, apply for job and show them your track record.
It doesn't matter if amount is small. What they want to see is the timing and your win/loss ratio. Timing is really important.
Remember to record your trading plan. They might want to see this.
Good luck.
