You can easily find grohe and hansgrohe in Malaysia.

P.s: I don’t have personal experience using those brand. Just recommending based on my reading. But planning to buy those brand for my house soon.

Great choice. Personally i prefer Grohe than Hansgrohe.

Grohe seems more common than hansgrohe which means buying spare parts are easier. So, I might go for grohe.

How do we know which one is made in asian and which is made in germany?

Actually I believe Hansgrohe is more exclusive than Grohe. The Transparent Glass Faucets by Philippe Starck for Hansgrohe is one of the most expensive faucet in the world.

Most Hansgrohe are assembled in Offenburg and Alpharetta facilities in Germany thus I guess you can said made in Germany. But most of their parts are made in China or Taiwan to their specifications.

I have both and Grohe quality varies as lower end models are not as great in finishing and typically they are not made in Germany. Top end Grohe is great. Good about Grohe is that their cartridges are all made in Germany. So while some may be pitted exteriorly the cartridge of the cheap one performs just as well as the high end one.

For Grohe you can look at the box for the origin of the made. You can also usually see that the price will reflect where it is made ... Top ones are Germany. Cheap ones are Thailand. Lastly ask the shop. If the shop can't answer you then I think you should look for another shop. They should know their products better.

BTW. Kohler is not bad too

Yeah. Hansgrohe seems more exclusive hence it isn’t as common as Grohe. As some who are concerned about maintenance and parts replacement, I googled and saw not many people selling hansgrohe parts compare to grohe. So, most likely if one plan to replace parts instead of replacing the whole fixture in future, the better choice would be grohe.

Not really. If u go Jalan Ipoh, KL, lot of people supplying Hansgrohe and Grohe. No issue on both brands spare parts.

On the question, either u see why the price is cheaper, then it 80-90% possible is made from Thailand. Or to play safe, just ask the sales guy inside the shop. Happy hunting.

I haven’t been to any physical shop so far, only researching online. After all I am just looking to buy shower mixers and kitchen faucet. The rest of the house I will just use whatever the developer provided until they break down.

BTW, where is this Jalan Ipoh? It has always been mentioned here, but I never actually been there nor I can find it specifically in google map.

jalan ipoh  is to the left  of PWTC  putra world trade.

Oo. They renamed it to Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah. No wonder I can’t find it in google map laugh.gif

So, all the home renovation items are in the same cluster of spread over the stretch of Jalan Ipoh?

Are you sure you are from KL? 🤣
Jalan Ipoh is a fairly long stretch of road connecting to KL downtown/chow kit. Just Waze "Top Idea". It is one of the shops that carries a lot off Grohe stuff and other brands eg Blanco at competitive price when on sale. There are a few along the road.

Oh. I am not from KL. Born in Selangor, grew up in Kelantan, now working in KL, staying in Shah Alam. And I don’t like to drive into KL unless I have something to do at the destination I am going laugh.gif

So yeah, when comes to KL, I am very dependent on google map.

Thank you for the guide. Is it worth going there or should I just stick to Amazon.de? hmm.gif

Check and compare bro. Sometimes Top Idea sales can be cheaper. They also supply to projects thus they have economy of scale. Plus you can touch touch feel feel. I was looking at a Toto smart toilet bowl and think my ass will be extremely happy ... but then it is just slightly cheaper than a Toyota Yaris!

For faucets, local price vs overseas online price is more or less the same. But for shower mixers, the local price is almost double the oversea’s online price even after shipping and taxes sweat.gif I don’t want to waste the salesperson’s time entertaining me when I don’t plan to buy from them. But i found one shop selling grohe at much cheaper price in Rawang. It’s like almost 30-40% cheaper than Top Idea’s online price. But I wonder what’s the catch hmm.gif

yes
i heard  that many  reno shops along jalan ipoh  but i really not gone  to check it
i live in  petaling jaya ..  and they have some shops here.  nod.gif

Yeah. PJ also have a lot of shops selling reno supplies from what I read. And the location also seems like easier to park compare to going to KL sweat.gif
