Actually,i took pendidikan muzik.That day after i returned home,i tried to ask my muzik teacher on how the questions is.Unfortunately,my muzik teacher said dunno!!!!!i felt that i was cheated by my school teacher,because he said"if you have grade 4 or 5 can take pendidikan muzik already".but until now i still dunno what the questions is,i tried to search from web,and i get nothing about SPM's pendidikan muzik paper.

Anyone here can help me,coz i really dunno the questions,the only thing i know is that it is related to music theory.If any forumer here know something pls tell me

Never heard of this before.... I mean what is the use of this subject in SPM level ? Another free "A" i suppose that is why the standard of Malaysian education is like that......SPM result now like no use already unless you are a high-scorer which there are plenty of these days cause of subjects like this....

the new SPM format allows specialization. if u wanna be an engineer, u dont need to take biology. if u wanna be a musician, then u take music education. get it?

nowadays, people are too obsessed over grades, and everyone assumes that pure science produce the very best students. this is wrong. having this mentality makes students think that pure science is THE ONLY way to go. and later realize that they actually wanna be a lawyer, and all those pure science subjects will go to waste.

it's not a free A. everybody works hard for their As. certain A is ofcourse easier than the others, but their application is rather limited. if u're stuck with "how many As u've got", then u're still living in the past. it's not how many As u have, it's what u can do with it. if he wants to specialize in music, he knows that he couldnt use the subject to apply for engineering courses in the future. get it?

Of course lah,i have music classes.

But i just don know what is the quetions on the SPM's paper,even my classical guitar teacher don know.So i have to collect some information here loh

There is another thing i have to mention here,i take the subject pendidikan muzik isn't for being a musician,but for my hobby/interesting.

music classes got wht? don think it will be too easy.. learn some chords, some notes and play some songs?

.. i dont think it's gonna be practical exam lol. coz practical exam is quite subjective. n oso its like so time consuming. theory exam in malay, like someone in spm 2007 thread said... i had thoguht of taking music too.. even if theres practical part its gonna be a short one.. like sight reading.

err its my 1st time hearing this but i ask my friend he said that it should be in notes/knowing a song/knowing notes and etc

I wanted to take it this year, but my stupid school just said NO to me...

I never did take Pendidikan Muzik for SPM, though I once seriously considered doing it. Take my words with a pinch of salt, for the format of the examinations might have changed by now, since my knowledge on the examinations is at least two years old.

50% of the written paper examination will be about theory of music, which you probably have learned in your piano lessons. If you're about Grade 4 or 5 in your ABRSM theory, then that's no problem for you.

The other 50% of the paper is about the history of music. This is where you have to do a lot of reading and memorizing of facts. There will be essays, and you'll have to answer based on your knowledge on the history.

There's some coursework as well as a practical part of the exam. You'll have to complete a folio [scrapbook] on some music-related topic AND your practical part consists of some singing and some simple playing of musical instruments.

If you are planning to take Pendidikan Muzik, your teacher should have done some research and informed you about the requirements for the paper. Bug your teacher about it, because he or she needs to give you the assessment for your practicals and stuff. Consider seeking tutoring from qualified Pendidikan Muzik teachers from other schools.

Free "A" ? What if i tell you pendidikan muzik at SPM level is equally as hard as addmath? Would you call it free A? =)

Need to dig through schools and ask candidates.
Most of our schools very Arts/Science based.

Special subjects like Mata Pelajaran Vokasional (MPV) also very hard to find like my high school offer Cooking & Landscaping @ SMK Seri Serdang.
