Buying Advice Accessories for D40

Hi, The case is like this, my sister's bday is coming soon and my parents and me decided to buy some "addon" for her D40 (bought less than half a year) any pro can recommend? btw the stuff she got are like, 4gb mem card, 18-55mm lens, a bag that can carry spare lens and a tripod. oh and prefer budget is about RM500+- (dont ask me go buy the 18-200mm lens  )

About RM395 but mind you, you would need to use a manual focus on that lens. Or else maybe you can get her a SB400 flash.

another suggestion is scout around for a good condition used 55-200mm lens to complement the kit lens. should cost around RM500..

hmm...i think i would get a SB400, from the way she use it i dont think she have much use with another lens(but i no idea what diff lens do anyway, photography noob)
i wonder pc fair sells SB400.

i'll say top up the budget a little, and get a used SB600.. a good used SB600 can be had for around RM630-650, new unit for RM800+.. the SB400 is rather limiting, ur sis will probably outgrown it soon.. This post has been edited by kevin613: Aug 3 2007, 01:42 PM

a flash would be nice...=)... and i agree...get the sb600...sb400 is kinda limited...

sb600 on a d40 looks awkwards. like my sb800 on my d40. hahahaha the flash is killing the body. hahahaha.

I actually saw someone with a D2X use a SB-400 to shoot a wedding before. He says its all he needs for some occasions.

a 50mm prime with +4 closeup filter sounds nice.... girls seem to love macro... and at the same time you get a cool lens
