QUOTE(jetblast @ Jun 24 2020, 07:27 AM) I had a photo printer before but it's actually more cost effective to get the photo printed in the shops. Quality also better. I do know photo printer shops quality is much better but when comes to home printer which can print near photo quality at home.Experience , during mco which most shop are close , and not a few photo printed shop near my area close down since they can't support the heavy burden on rentals. So, which photo printer did you own ? Normally, for basic photo printing not advance photo quality using DSLR.Just Smartphone photo to be print out , some are 5mp some are 8mp.And it's not regular printing of large quantity.Maybe 3-8 piece in a week. If the difference isn't high as the photo taken indoor with 5mp and some are video Sshot taken out from 720p as a .jpg.i think , if source picture not good , printed out using good printer also wouldn't be good. Do you know where I can find sample of photo printer ? which mall or shop does have sample photo quality ? Or do you know any website which review on printer comparison ? |

QUOTE(jetblast @ Jun 24 2020, 09:40 PM) I had a 6 tank Epson more than 10 years ago. Can remember the model. When use quality paper the prints were nice. Just did not print enough to justify the cost. Also the ink use to dry if not used for long. That's why I prefer just to get prints in shops now. What is the lastest epson printer you able to remember ? is it CISS ? Any significant different using Piezoelectric Print Heads Vs. Thermal Print Heads ? I remember reading piezo last longer while thermal better image quality. So , up until now , anyone actually use home printer to print a photo ? CISS ? any sample .Is it no one actually have a sample of photo using hoe printing ? This post has been edited by Maxieos: Jun 24 2020, 11:06 PM |

QUOTE(Grajindo @ Jun 26 2020, 10:12 PM) just wondering what type of photographs that you intend to print? the usage of it. 4R ,8mp phone camera , 720p taken from a phone video. Some flower , landscape , family trip photo.i did some home printing but then opted to print it with a local lab since it's more cost effective for the things i do. to maintain my printer ink is costly. and not to mention the cost involve in calibrating the printer and monitor. i'm using canon pro-100 and there're tonnes of review out there. The reason i choose CISS because ink is cheaper but at lease I need to know how well the quality printing. The source isn't great but if the printer brand canon or epson ciss sample is acceptable then i wouldn't mind going for it. What is stuck around my case is -No sample for CISS printer 4R photo quality -No comparison vs Home printer like yours pro-100 vs CISS vs Shop Printing -No comparison on CISS brand/model like epson vs canon Normally when picking up a printer , what is the most important for printing photo specification ? new user on printer specification. All review focus on camera details review , LCD or led tv review, phone details review but the whole world I can't find any website which have printer review. I found most are recommend like https://www.cnet.com/news/best-printer-for-2020/ I need more review on sample photo taken , like color accuracy , quality .The most i get is https://www.rtings.com/printer/reviews/canon/pixma-g6020 It's non , I can say almost zero on printer details review. Been searching for months , I can only rely on user review through a photo , nothing I can find to compare. At lease my requirement is less graininess on printer and color accuracy and vibrant is acceptable. |

QUOTE(Grajindo @ Jun 27 2020, 12:38 AM) try and see whether does this guy have anything to address your case as I know epson using Piezo while canon using Thermal , i search around before , they have pro and cons but the case here is where I can find both in a average position on both colour accuracy.https://www.youtube.com/user/cheo1949 the only thing about canon and epson that i know is, canon somehow will have better colour accuracy out for the factory. epson always has problem in magenta. but for canon, once any of the ink cartridge is empty, you'll need to change it even if you don't use the colour. I do know some basic printer print out with lots of graininess. Thanks for the youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYzMAm6Um9M looking at it. Most youtube video cannot view except the user on youtube zoom their recording to a degree for user to view.We know , most youtube max is 1080p so hardly able to see any color sharpness , graininess and etc details. Some zoom glossy paper from youtube review , quite acceptable https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVo1hPHcDC2DLf--jF9ePBg Every printer have different preference , normally as long as it's not as bad as ( until I see a sample photo ) to define it. This website at lease had a better review on some printer. https://www.rtings.com/printer/reviews . Try browsing in a private mode since they have limit on viewing photo 3 times without subscription. If limit reach ,just close and restart private mode will do. Until now , even on this Photography, Digital Imaging & Video forum , I still can't find any user who do a review on printer.Any thread with sample picture ? as I know most are picture taken digitally and upload no printed picture view like Photo jpg vs Photo printed. Most user have a Monitor 10 bits , pro rgb , spyder and etc needed from a pc side as most photography use as photo editing and post at the gallery section but I can't find any and good quality printer that most of user here didn't post out. Where I can find a large forum board that have printer review ? sample photo printed ? not those sample photo taken digitally ? This post has been edited by Maxieos: Jun 27 2020, 10:18 PM |
