2 months ago, I replaced my old ceiling fan with Panasonic Bayu (4 blades).

About 1 week ago, I started to hear some ticking noises from the ceiling fan intermittently.

I've tried to tighten the exterior screws without messing too much on the interior as I have no expertise/knowledge on dismantling/installing the whole thing.

I plan to schedule appointment with the electrical shop to solve this problem.

Meanwhile, does anyone know what is the cause of the noise? doesn't sound/look like bearing/motor problem

Hopefully the thread below help? It's more about humming, so not so sure if your ticking sound can be helped.

thanks all.

I managed to secure appointment for the technician to look at it tomorrow.

Will get them to settle this for me since I don't have masking tape at my home now as well ><

This is one annoying fan ticking problem especially sleeping/resting time.
I once had this instead paying to check the problem, I replace the fan.

apparently my problem was none of those - the ticking noise was caused by one of the blade section not screwed/tighten properly

yup ... so the 3 days I spent troubleshooting the problems were in vain ... I was not even looking at the right place tongue.gif

I don't have the proper tools to DIY even if I know the real problem though

The tape youtube fix the ticking for my bayu 4, u can also tape the stafety pins where the blade screw to the body... I had 5x bayu 4 at home,, all have the same treatment. solve the issue.

also try ur best to balance the fan... bayu 4 is not well balanced, it will goyang goyang which further make more sound... Good luck... also the cabling if can wire manage it welll so it will not knock around in the casing.

this mostly is not PCB or electrical problem. all the sound come from casing... also the buzzzz whining sound is the same...all is casing problem.
