Defender is fine. Can check out av-comparatives for comparisons of antiviruses but take it with a pinch of salt. No complaints with Windows Defender here.

Agree with other forumers above, Window Defender is good enough. But I also installed Avast just to be safe (as an extra precaution). Lol!

Don't need third party AV apps anymore.

No AV/Antimalware app comes with an ironclad guarantee – because no single app can cover the entire spectrum of online threats. But not so long ago, Windows Defender's level of protection was used as a “baseline” for comparing the protection offered by third-party AV apps. That’s no longer the case, and once Windows 10 is updated to the Fall Creators Update, Windows Defender should be sufficient for most users.

If u install avast, it will replace your windows antivirus.. try install kaspersky anti-ransomware for additional protection.. so far receive good review from google search.. If you're a normal user then defender is enough but if you are regular user of internet surfing like you're doing affiliate marketing or web developing then you must think about extra layer of security to save from ransomware.

Since appearing of Windows 10, build-in Defender is far than enough.
Third party anti-virus no longer necessary.

How about the built in Firewall? I found it slows down the Internet speed.
