So recently my car has an issue with the ignition

One of my plug coil spoiled and I went to the foreman

He told its best to change the whole thing together if not the rest of the coils will spoil faster

So he quoted me this price for 4 Bosch plug coils and 1 spark plug la, in total RM950

Is this reasonable?

What car is it?

I know if you use Honda original plug coil, each cost RM260.

not logical... "must change all"

wat was the cause? how the coil spoil? too many unknowns

edit: somehow I read coil cables instead of coil itself, but still, no need change all. If its manufacture defect...till when want to change all?

Same like your car suffered the same fate as my dad's Almera. 2013 model and had encountered failed plug coil.

He went to TAN CHONG and total replacement for all plug coils + all spark plugs was around RM900+.

If you buy and use back TAN CHONG coil plug, it's only RM90 a piece excluding labour.

Yes. I would assume those are original.

The TAN CHONG plug coil are all locally made. These are not Japan parts and the Almera when new also did not use Japan parts. All are using this TAN CHONG locally made plug coil.

That's why it fails so soon.

Plug coils is better to change the entire set, if 1 starts to fail then the rest would follow sooner or later. Check on the loom too and change it as well if possible, especially the plastic connector tends to brittle and disintegrate due to prolong exposure to engine heat.

It is quite an expensive items, but it'll last a long time as long as u buy original brand new or a reputable aftermarket replacement. Just change it once and forget about it. If u r not taking it to service center, u can probable save some money sourcing it out urself and install urself. Its relatively simple plug and play only.

Mine cost 2k a set..... 😂
