i remember those days. Owning a Tamiya is like owning Vios godcar. People can see that you own a Tamiya because of the bumper: Auldey's will show white bending spots on the bumper frame below if your 4WD ram against the wall. Tamiya's would not show defects. My family was only a lower middle class, and my late father could only afford to buy me an Auldey. It would take me an Aidilfitri celebration before I can afford a Tamiya by collecting duit rayas. Man, I'm starting to miss going to school in the afternoons racing with other kids on the dual-lane longkangs. lol This post has been edited by jamilselamat: Jun 22 2020, 10:05 AM Ahmad Asyraf, Win10, and 1 other liked this post

QUOTE(jamilselamat @ Jun 22 2020, 10:10 AM) Look at that, Ultra Dash costs only 620yen. Thats like 30 ringgits max. Yeah in japan these things are just toys, kids can play them without significant parent suppor.. in malaysia they are hobbies that require a lot of money.. adults dominateBut i remember shops putting these motors in glass racks and selling these high end motors for over RM100. Fucking ripoffs. same with Magic the Gathering... over there they are considered as child's play... chump change.. here, a single card can cost you a few meals for a few days This post has been edited by wild_card_my: Jun 22 2020, 10:22 AM jimmyktp liked this post

spring bumber misti ada, but normal also ok as last time stuff built in quite good quality sial.
still miss those day when randomly (or actually there's a schedule but no easy to know as no internet easily accessible) go shopping mall, people actually setup a track to use for free. always carry with small bag so it comes in handy whenever we see a free track, |

Did anyone here buy those 1/24 scale model kits? Anyone remember going to Hobby Jaya at Sg Wang to buy Tamiya kits?
My first Tamiya kit was a 1/24 scale Mercedes 500 SEC with the Lorinzer body kit bought by my late granddad who drove a 500 SEC at that time, his did not have the body kit as it was stock standard from the factory and remained that way till it was sold. The next kit I had was a BMW M635CSI because my late grandma drove a BMW 628CSI and I painted it silver just like her car. Sadly none of those cars or kits remain, the cars met their end as the COE expired and the kits were lost in a house fire. Would love to buy those kits again but it turns out to be easier to find the real car than the kits. I also had the 1/10 RC ones, had the Big Foot Monster Truck, an off road buggy named Manta Ray and a Lancia Delta rally car. A puddle in the garden was all I needed to have fun those days. Other than Tamiya was also into balsa wood R/C Spitfire and also had a replica Airwolf. Then came the phase of life where I lost interest in it because of girls and Play Station. |

back when i started, it was only Tamiya, only see the other brands coming out after i stopped playing, was too pricey for a kid like me to keep up with the hobby. Had plenty of fun tho..
back then used to hang out at Nam Lee in ss3, and the new shop a few doors away.. and also the one in atria just infront of the lift. the kits back then were around 19.90 and comes with motor, during that time, fastest motor was only hyperdash and those modded motors. only later they released ultradash motor.. |

Really that expensive?
In my trip to Korea I got my Japan Cup 2014 car at around RM30 (after conversion). Price seem pretty standar, right? |
