I bought some gear from them before, including a mirrorless camera and tripod, and they seem to be in business for a long time, but now I see all their outlets everywhere closed down.

Are they closed down for good? Cannot find any info about them anywhere now.

Oh, their outlets at Subang Parade, Sunway Pyramid, and Lowyat are gone....

That is a very big downsizing....

Online business is booming. Lots of people in this era prefer buying from online instead of going to the shop physically unless there is an absolute need for it

Most of the fotekem store location was still there but branding was no more and it was run by the owner themselves/or sold to someone else or taken over by another company (eg ground floor fotokem in Lowyat plaza taken over by YL). I remember Mid valley one still got but changed name but still can see fotokem colour/branding here and there.

I think fotokem style is like franchising? Eg i pay to get the branding and wholesale network? Correct me if I am wrong.

I think Fotokem is probably more or less closed down already. If you say the Midvalley outlet does not look like the Fotokem, then it's probably shut down too and the new owner just too lazy to remove the Fotokem branding.

I asked the Lowyat branch what happened to the Fotokem there and they said closed down.

As I know camera sales have been very bad since the past few years. Can see their old Facebook stock clearance sales from even last year.

Inconsistent, expensive and unfriendly service. So i rather get it online. Same brand but each outlet doesn't care for another one.
