Maybe your place also using different OLT switch equipment? Like in Malacca, Calix OLT? or using Huawei universal OLT just like in Menglembu?

You know TM tried to use different universal ONTs(fibre modems) with their OLTs end up many reported just failed within hours/days.It's like in total mess.

End up the best and most stable ONT which was also the eastist to work with was the Huawei models.
*
NOT REALLY, There is a reason why TM uses different types of ONT because it depends on the type of equipment used in an area. For example, if an area there uses Huawei Technology, then the ONT used on the premises must be the same brand. If an area there uses FiberHome Technology, then the ONT used on the premises must be the same brand. Because there have been issues where the ONT used on the premises is often problematic due to the equipment used is not the same. For example, (Premises A) using Huawei brand ONTs have internet connection problems due to the equipment in the fiber cabinet is from FiberHome brand, as a solution, TM will change the ONT to the suitable ONT according to an area.

Kulim > Penang...

Mundurnya Penang cry.gif

May I know, why did you say that?

in terms of fibre optic infra, penang has various infra such as TM Fiber, TIME fiber and the latest iSP is Gigabit Fiber. Other states mostly rely on Infra TM Fiber only. This is good news for those states as their states now have Infra Fiber from companies other than TM

Confirm related with politics..haiz..
TM not blocked, TNB blocked.. doh.gif
*
the reason why TNB is not allowed in Sabah and Sarawak because of the State Government. The state government will definitely give priority to state products such as Sarawak electricity and Sabah electricity. While TNB electricity is a national product for Peninsular Malaysia. For Allo Internet service is not sure whether it can be offered to Sarawak & Sabah or not, because Allo Internet is under TNB. Unless the Sarawak Government & Sabah Government give the green light permission to TNB to offer Allo Internet services.

Just compare the posts between Unifi's and Allo's
Every few pages you'll see people asking "hey xxx area dc again?", "why my ping so bad tonight"
Not seeing many people complaining about Allo's stability here...

As an Unifi user myself, I can tell you unifi's international routing is horrible especially to EU
They route traffic to EU from MY to HK, back to SG then finally to EU...adding extra latencies
Every couple weeks/months now always got weird issues at Unifi's end
Today's network issue cant even be fixed by using VPN....

If you got the option to choose, get Allo
Honest review from someone stuck with Unifi on 20 more months of contract
*
Lately, TM has been experiencing internet access problems to international servers. It is possible that TM is currently using an alternative route.

Most sites are neck to neck lah, but certain sites unifi is bad because of bad international routing and congestions hence the amazing comment from me  shakehead.gif

I'm still tied to contract, by the time Allo arrived I should have around a year more. Need something to justify that RM1680 termination fee doh.gif
*
payment of termination fees can be paid in installments at TMpoint. no need to pay all at once

Hi guys may I ask how does the RM20 voice plan works? Is it same as Unifi?
*
the voice plan available on Unifi is free for 600 minutes per month. while for allo, need to make an additional RM20 per month for voice plan and no free calls, still charged 8 sen/min

Bumping this thread.

So has Allo halted expansion in Perak already?

Seems quiet down already. They already moved on to other states now such as Kedah and Johor now?
*
still on track, just a little slow

YES, currently, only TM and TIME provide Public IP by default to all their customers. While users from other isp need to make a request to the isp to activate public ip

Welp, I got bad news
Local allo agent told me Allo's project in Johor will be delayed as TM recruited most of the technicians for expanding their network.
*
TM is now in the process of upgrading all existing streamyx users to fiber optics as it is part of the BROADBAND FIBERIZATION (BBF) project.

Maybe your residential area has not been included in their system yet and the fiber optics may still be in the process of try n error

then how about using your own router?

like with tmnut you can replace their default router with your own. but the only special requirement is being able to use vlan tag. there are 2 vlan tags, one for internet the other for iptv. iptv is optional (i didn't bother).
*
You can use your own router

Hi, if use your own router with Allo, the router need to support Vlan configuration?
*
not sure if Allo needs to activate VLAN or not?

I am not mistaken, someone says that Allo doesn't need a vlan tag,

and I've also seen people say that the modem connection to the router uses "Dynamic Mode" and some also use "PPPoE Mode" hmm.gif

Hm...are you sure asus ax3000 with vlan tagging support? Honestly I bought this unit since last year aug...but it still remain in sealed box... the reason is because Time initially promised to get our place in service by sept 2020, unfortunately that was empty promise...we are getting nothing until now...another good news for us is, allo trigger us on last month, according to them we should able to subscribe by June (they will star the installation by early April, hopefully that is not a false alarm like what Time did), hopefully they able to keep their promise and like what you said ax3000 can support vlan tagging else this unit will be useless for me....

By the way, I’m from Penang, so far I didn’t hear any news regarding allo deployment in Penang, hope the schedule which promise by them are true..,, blush.gif
*
YES, Asus AX3000 also has VLAN support

many many years ago, streamyx users were facing limited port issue...

with fibre, thought things will set to change, but many are still facing limited port issue!!!

what the heck TM is doing in 21st technology????

besides, if your area is covered with fibre cable, you might not be able to subscribe maxis and digi ones because TM restricted that..

FYI,

TM 30mbps package
Cost: RM89
DL: 30mbps
UL: 10mpbs

Maxis 30mbps package
Cost: RM89
DL: 30mbps
UL: 30mbps

Digi 50mbps package
Cost: RM90
DL:50mbps
UL: 50mbps

Because TM gives priority to the upgrade process of all existing Streamyx users to upgrade to a fiber optic plan (BBF Project). While for other ISPs that ride infra TM have to wait a few months until the process of migrating streamyx users to Unifi is completed
