Which Tmn you stay? I did remember you mention b4 but I forgot🤣.

You said that Uxxfx already started to pull cable at your Tmn. Since overlapping is not a problem anymore for both parties maybe you can wait for a while for TNB Allo to pull cable at your Tmn?

Oh one more thing at 棺材街 or 黑街. You can see they digging and lay cable at there too. Near restaurant fulim there

Yup, confirm yellow-black cable is being lay. Most probably they lay it to increase the service quality.

Don't piss them, later they go cut cable😂😂

You might be right.

I'm kinda mad that after they losing so much customer then only take action to get thing done.

Nevertheless, luckily Allo come to the rescue and I don't need to pay over price package and asymmetrical speed🤗

If you saw how TNB Allo pole installations are setup, you'll know that what TM did all the while was wrong.

Every 2 homes has a pole with a FDP box behind the back alley. On average each alley(lorong) behind a row of houses will have roughly 4-5 FDP boxes..
*
Yup, I agree with @Candy12. I more prefer to Allo setup of FDP. Today I have witness with my own eye on how U××f× do they own setup. F××king angry😡. Like what @lowck said, 2 row of houses share 1 FDP, that's 28 unit back-to-back sharing 1 FDP.

What really baffles me is why they intentionally handicap themselves like that? I mean if you are going to cover that area why do such a half arse job of doing it?

Correct me if I'm wrong, they could just pull a multicore fiber underground in one go and terminate to individual FDP for each fiber strand? No?

Though I guess it's probably to create a sense of urgency for the them to sign up by artificially creating demand? Which I guess it probably back fire from that.

Actually can I request T× to add or I sponsor another unit of FDP, so my neighbourhood no need to crowded into 1 FDP?

True, alot of area didnt have fiber coverage but still cant T× do a more proper job by atleast providing 2 FDP. How much does it cost for a FDP? I google and found FDP is sold at RM100 per box. Dont tell me that T× that bought it at bulk quantity dont be cheaper?

Pity the house at the far edge of the row of homes who wants to install U××f×. They only provide 20m of drop fibre(black colored) cable from the FDP into the home until the ONT(fibre modem). bangwall.gif

More you have to pay for the extra length. icon_idea.gif

Got few shop lots in Ipoh city area recently also complained about this after switching to U××f× from having to pay hundreds for their Streamyx lines. The silly Tx installer go install the FDP at the edge of a row of shophouses specifically the corner lot wall and the other end wants to install U××f× have to pay extra to pull from one end to another ended up paying more for extra length.

You see these TM sub contractors are not properly trained and professional at all. Seems like their allocations and budget is very restricted. mega_shok.gif

This is not the worst you can see.

In my area, I had seen 80 households in a single flat block sharing 1 U**** FDP! The typical installation in my area is 48-80 households sharing 1 FDP.
But majority of residents there do not use fixed line broadband as they spend less time at home/doesn't require such service, they are mostly using mobile broadband here.

Nevertheless I am glad after years of noise, it is finally becoming in my area.

Yup, I also have the same thought. The first reason why T× is doing so is because most of the house now dont keep or used fixed line anymore, everyone is using mobile. Hence T× feel no need to setup so many FDP but that mindset is wrong and selfish.

Why I say selfish bcos u see, T× want to monopolies the fibre network and they do not want to share the network easily to other isp by not providing enough FDP at an area. Hence resulting to the 2nd reason, reason to why always port full.

Side note : It seem Allo is having some problem with some area unable to go power ON🤔

Hmm, Problem back at their exchange? hmm.gif

Regardless I will say give it more time, Can't be too harsh to new comer compare to TM which ALLO don't have the resources and experiences to compete with.

😂😂 Maybe not the problem from the exchange but problem to cater the number of WO. You know la, Ipohian has becoming zombie, hunger for fiber for years.😝

There are 3 sections for an open fibre network provider:

Passive infrastructure: All unlitted fibre cables, roadside cabinets, utility poles, FDPs, drop fibre and FWS(wall socket at the customer's end)

Active section: The OLT switch, backhaul switches, edge routers, exchange office/datacentres and lastly the provisioning of the fibre modem(ONT) at the customers premise.
This is where the section which lights up the passive fibres and gives life to them(turns them on).

RSP/Retail ISPs: Subscriber access accounts, billing and different traffic routing gateways/datacentres routed via wholesale active ISP.

TNB Allo having trouble keeping up with demands for OLT ports? OLT installation not ready yet? PAssive section of the network buildout proceeded ahead of schedule?

Actually I'm not too sure what the real cause of the delay. If u say the problem was with OLT, I dont think so (in my own opinion) cos I dont see anythg happening at the exchange.
