So this just another crony TM enrichment exercise by the new government. Really TM has been purposely misusing the HSBB funding by previous government for the past 10 years. The HSBB money should be enough to fiberize the country. But the leakage is very bad that a new administration has to fund another round of programs to complete the job.

From the list you can clearly see that TNB is not targetting CBDs and state capitals. Probably close-by suburbs and outskirt residential areas just outside the city limits.

Alor Setar, Georgetown/Bayan Baru, Ipoh, PJ/Shah Alam, Seremban and JB/Nusajaya not in the list.
Probably TM is already dominant in those areas with many of them covered well with their HSBB infra.
*
Allo Broadband is also available in several areas in Alor Setar and Ipoh (another name is Kinta).

This mean.... Asymmetrical Speed on any Fiber Line??? oh phuck TM!
*
The following ISPs (CELCOM, MAXIS, DIGI) that use Infra other than TM, can offer Symmetrical speed internet plans. But unfortunately they do not want to offer different internet plans. Instead they want to standardize all their internet plans. It doesn't matter if they use their own infra, or TM or other infra.

Currently only one ISP offers different internet plans depending on the type of Infra used. which is Viewqwest Malaysia

Finally got astro fibre broadband.

May I know, what ISP name does Astro Broadband use? TIME? MAXIS? Or ALLO?

The reason is that Astro Broadband that uses TM infra will use Maxis ISP

You say you use Astro Broadband, but why is your Astro STB not connected to a router and using IPTV mode? Instead your Astro is still using Satellite hmm.gif

Even in IPTV mode, the STB is connected to the dish too for back-up. Only in special circumstances this is not true.
*
I know, but there is no LAN cable connection from the router to the STB hmm.gif

WIFI, maybe?

As far as I know, Astro IPTV is similar to UnifiTV (Hypptv) which also requires a VLAN ID for IPTV

That means the Astro Broadband (ALLO) you are using now is not using IPTV service, unlike Astro Broadband (TIME & MAXIS), which use IPTV services on their infra

Allo uses Dynamic IP, and they give their users a Private IP by default.

Probably because this router has VoIP support (maybe for those who want to add-on voice plan). So they gave the D-Link router instead of the Tp-link Archer C6.

The same model provided by Unifi to their new users.

OIC. Maybe my one has to wait until Thursday. I saw this YouTuber also from Bercham got TP-Link A6.
Which performance is better?
*
in terms of performance is not much different. The only difference is the VoIP support. The Archer C6 has no VoIP port, while the DLINK DVG-F2452 has VoIP port.
After all, the DVG-F2452 model is a WIFI5 router released in 2021.

Allo rejected my application for public IP.
Reason is i am not business user.
*
You can try again. If your application is rejected again
you can submit your complaint to the MCMC with some evidence and reasons why you want Public IP (for example CCTV)

So basically we don’t need public ip….but why some ppl are asking allo to change to public ip? What is the beneficial for that? Thanks again
*
Public IP is more open than Private IP
Public IP can be used to access CCTV, NAS, FTP servers, game servers and others from anywhere globally.

If your area has Allo coverage, and you sign up Astro & Broadband, then it'll be Maxis Fibre but riding under Allo Infra.

During installation day, Allo installer will in charge of laying fibre cable and setting up the fibre modem (ONU), while Astro installer will be in charge of configuring the WiFi router, as well as installing Astro satellite dish and Astro box.

The WiFi router will be the same as is currently used by Maxis, and the Internet account username will be xxxxxx@home.maxis.com.my
Same like what is being used by the usual Maxis Fibre customers riding under TM Infra.

If you wish to change to Public IP, you'll have to do it manually by contacting the customer service. Once it is successfully changed to Public IP, your username will be xxxxxx@public.maxis.com.my
*
Incorrect, If your area has Infra Allo, and you sign up for Astro+Broadband, you will get Allo/City Broadband ISP instead of a Maxis Fiber ISP.
(Unless you register Astro+Broadband for areas that use Infra TM or Maxis, then the ISP that will be use is Maxis Fiber)

Did Allo team ever wonder why they still provide AC1200 wifi routers to 500mbps and 1Gbps user? When it's wireless output doesn't exceed 400mbps. Whenever you question them, they replied..."have you ever tried LAN direct connection?". It's already 2021... how often you see users use LAN direct connection. All are using WiFi instead. Isn't better they just provide us AX1500 or AX1800 wifi router at the very least.
*
Any ISP, if you want to get at least 90% speed from your subscription package, must use a LAN connection instead of WIFI.
If you want to get highspeed internet on WIFI network, please buy your own router.
