Allo/City broadband doesn't have an official Facebook page?
*
Nope, they don't even have a Twitter account...

ok. Is their customer service ok? Because Allo has started to install pole in my Taman then TM only fast fast pull their fiber cable. I plan to wait for Allo if their CS are ok.

Email-ed them 4 times, wrote to them 3 times on the website
Not a single reply rclxub.gif

Strange, my experience with their CS is rather good. Right after installation I contacted them via email to set up my user profile login at their website. Their email response is fast throughout that experience.
*
No such luck for me... Had to call them to get a proper response
Hope they'll push out CS on Twitter, easier for us to contract them

Today Allo dropped off another 2 more big spools of fiber cable. Looks like the nearby TNB pencawang pembahagi elektrik utama is under going earthworks for foundation construction. Don't know if related to Allo or TNB structure. Also Allo might be doing underground fiber cable ducting because there's a horizontal direction drilling machine at the roadside near the traffic light between the pencawang and the FDC.

So, from nothing to having a box beside the road took around 3 months?

Updates for Bandar Putra, Kulai
Yesterday morning technicians came to mark some of the utility access hatches with blue paints. Meanwhile, the road in front of hutan bandar had multiple "TNB" logo access hatch installed. Transformer station near SJKC Pei Cheng is installing some racks in their building with trenching works being done at roadside

------updates at 5 pm------
Contractors are breaking open the utility hatch now, I asked them is it TNB's fiber
They told me it's for TM, adding extra ports.
Kek, I thought adding extra ports will take years?
Guess TM wanna saturate this taman before Allo is ready.

At the moment poles installed at:
Bandar Putra: Jalan Nuri, Merak, Terkukur, Meranti
Saleng: total of 9 streets (agent didn't mention which but I know Muhibbah installed early last month), I guess Pancasila, Mesra, Saleng Indah, Sutra, Muhibbah, Saleng Baru, Saleng Jaya, Saleng Maju, Mestijaya.
Sri Putri: Jalan 11, 12, Apartment

Official ETA around 3 months, agent says maybe 6 due to delays of DP installations.
Underground fiber, DP, all done by different contractors.

May I know what is the backbone for allo tnb, is it their own or TM? Can someone share the pingtest and traceroute? Whether they use TM MyIX or direct to Singapore.. thank you
*
Good enough? Ping should be similar to pre-MCO's Unifi?

Why does it requires rm300 upfront? Lol

One time charge of RM300 is applicable to subscription of 12 months contract and not entitled to any promotions.

Bumping this thread.

So has Allo halted expansion in Perak already?

Seems quiet down already. They already moved on to other states now such as Kedah and Johor now?
*
Even in Johor their works seem to slow down, poles ready for over a month. No fiber laying work in any residential area.
Unifi is adding additional ports to the areas that had Allo's pole installed, yeah...

Steady je. I waited since last year Sep when they plant the poles. Last 2 days ago only go online.
*
Welp, I got bad news
Local allo agent told me Allo's project in Johor will be delayed as TM recruited most of the technicians for expanding their network.

as far as i know most routers now have VLAN support even including asus ax3000. How come your router doesn't have VLAN support?
*
I think changing region to Malaysia will do, after that you can find VLAN settings
Remember seeing someone using ASUS China set router also asked this, worst-case scenario flash Malaysia's firmware.

Better ask here lah https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2651405

Update for Kulai, Johor
Allo's ETA is delayed indefinitely as TM recruited nearly all of the contractors to expand their infra, at least until TM fully Unifi-ted most of the area which probably would take another 6~9 months... only god knows.

Heard TM is making complaints too, to some department and claims Allo's work will delay their plans of upgrading Streamyx users to Unifi fiber under JENDELA.

Another update for Senai/Kulai area.
A group of agents left this in my mailbox, a brochure for Allo.
I called him for ETA,
he told me Allo will start all the cabling works within this month/early May.

No ETA on when the entire project will be done and ready for installation.
-----(updates from another agent)-------
ETA for Kulai late May/early June, from 3rd group of agents...

Unifi had added extra DPs for the entire area, so fingers crossed...
Hope I'll be using 500/500 broadband by the end of 2021 lol. doh.gif
