My installation date was last Friday, but only came just now.
I asked my agent, a lot of applications last 2 days.
It may delay for few days.
And expect them will come in sudden and without notice.
They suddenly called me and told me they reached.

A bit disappointed they do not give tplink A6.

Probably because this router has VoIP support (maybe for those who want to add-on voice plan). So they gave the D-Link router instead of the Tp-link Archer C6.

The same model provided by Unifi to their new users.

in terms of performance is not much different. The only difference is the VoIP support. The Archer C6 has no VoIP port, while the DLINK DVG-F2452 has VoIP port.
After all, the DVG-F2452 model is a WIFI5 router released in 2021.

They are no much difference in hardware.
But i prefer tplink because some extra features like openvpn, onemesh.
While dlink has voip and usb 4g modem fail over.

I suspect my plan too cheap to get their public IP.
I am using 50m.
I rather to upgrade to 100m instead of static IP if they allow me.

I've call the Hotline about the Public IP, for home user is 99% confirm won't get that feature even you try to apply it. For Business package, Public IP is not automatically provided. You still have to apply it with valid reason and 90% most of the time they grant your application.

Is there any solution or work around for gamer for private ip? Thank you

Connection is ok for me.
But China routing for Allo is worst than TM.

Used 2 weeks, so far so good too.
Never feel disconnection.

Wow, looks like this TNB-based broadband can be problematic. It is not covered in my place just yet (mainland Penang), but it is good to know that we can request for public IP to enable port forwarding and dynamic DNS. I use these a lot! I believe just give them time to improve.

I have one question though (for future reference). From where the fibre come from? From electrical pole? I'm on landed property where the TM (phone) pole is at the back of my house and TNB is at the front.

The reason why I ask this question is, I've done piping for my Unifi fibre to go to a room at ground floor at the back side of my house. That room is where I placed the modem and router, and also a switch (along with some other network equipments), wired to all over my house. If the City Broadband is from electrical pole, I believe it will cost me quite a lot so that the fibre will be routed towards the back of my house.

Any City Broadband subscriber here perform port forwarding without any issue? I use port forwarding for torrenting, VPN server, my NAS access, Plex, etc.. Any issue? Does City Broadband have any problem with torrenting?

Besides responds from the other thread, I've called their support line before (yeah, I am that desperate to have symmetry speed), and I've been told a subscriber need to have good reason to get public IP. I told him I have CCTV that requires port-forwarding, and I also have several other ports that required the same thing, and the guy said, those reasons are acceptable to get public IP.

How about asking them for IPv6 support?
If I'm not mistaken, they used to have IPv6 support around 2020
