Hi all,

This is my first posting here. Yesterday i went to check my car because there was no audio coming out for 2 weeks(i know its long without audio )..
So the thing is, i sent my car for checking and they found that my cheap 4.1 amp is blow up and they need to send it for warranty. Hate of being no audio furthermore, i've changed the amp to a Alpine v12 amp. (hopefully its a good choice as i dont really know much about amp but alpine seems a good brand. ) Damn i was so surprised with the clean sound after they finished installing it.

When they first installed the amp, they found something is wrong with my speaker because it's being cut off at high volume. So they checked and found that 1 of my DLS crossover is problematic and is doing the cut off and the other being ok. They worry that this might short the amp. So this is the start of the sad story and the main point of this topic..

This is my first speaker that i bought and it really has its own sentimental value and the sound was superb. So 1 side of it is broken and the audio guy couldn't help me unless i can get a same crossover model because both crossover needs to be the same. So they changed both to a 2nd hand i dunno what brand of crossover and that speaker becoming like a cheap speaker especially the tweeter.. no more sharp hiss hiss..

So the question is, i would like some advice from gurus who have experienced with lots of speakers, which speaker is a good replacement for my DLS? I know its hard to get that crossover anymore. They recommended me with MB Quartz (original) but not sure as i haven't heard the sound. My budget is around RM 1000 for a component speaker that would go great with my new alpine amp.
