Shorter story...

Anyone know a good replacement for my DLS Speaker? My budget is around RM 1000 +- .Seems that its really hard to find DLS brand speakers on Lelong or automotive garage. So thinking of getting a good quality speaker to replace it. Hope the guru can give some recommendations. Thanks.

My broken speaker here

a broken passive causing amp to overload ?
there's a ridiculous shit
and i've never heard of this reason either
i've oni heard about bad passive causing a blown driver or no sound

did he ask u to change a new amp? (for the sake of earning of ur $)

going active u need to have a 4ch amp for ur comps and also a bandpassable active crossover

yeap..my previous amp has no sound. he tested with the broken crossover and the new amp (alpine) is cutting off frequently. when he changed to a different crossover it doesnt cut off. According to him the he suspect that the broken DLS crossover was sending lots of current and thats the reason for the cutoff. Another crossover was doing ok.

Well i did change a new amp by trading in that amp. A lousy amp though. Now i have good amp but bad speaker sound so thinking of a way to replace those crossovers without changing speaker. No budget yet maa..

My current setup ..

Alpine v12 4ch amp
Front - component DLS 6" (connect to amp)
Kicker 10" woofer (connect to amp)

Car Original Honda speaker <--- off using HU when theres no passenger at the back
Pre-amp (just to control my speakers connected to amp)

HU - Pioneer 5650

Any suggestion?

Does him really know what is highpass & low pass croosover ?
Or this is their tactic to want customer buy amp?
