Transfer photos from Android, files became very big and unviewable, please help, how to fix?

Hi all,

Need a very big help from all of you, so I was transferring photos from my Note 10 Plus to my windows 10, usually, I will use copy and paste function, but somehow this time, I decided to cut and paste to save some time.

And after transferring the photos, I can't open the files, the file size became very huge as well, it is showing as 173TB when I don't even have such big storage on my computer. Each of the files is 89GB, but the actual size looks like 4kb There are also two arrows on each of the files.

Please advise how can I repair the files if anyone does come across such a problem.

And if it is not repairable, I transferred these photos directly from my phone memory, so if anyone does have experience recovering cut and paste photos from android phone, please provide guidance and help.

Thanks Jusbella, I saw this post before, but don't dare to do it yet as these are the files I have left, if I decompress, does it mean I will get 173TB, which my computer don't have such storage size, and will such action subsequently crash my computer due to insufficient storage?

Suggest you copy to other storage and decompress.

Hi Jusbella, I tried this trick, copied one of the file, which is around 89GB (as I couldn't copy all files due to big 173TB size, I believe no one can), when I copied to my SSD, I notice it became an uncompressed file, but still massive size. Then I tried to copy to another laptop, same thing, the file is already uncompressed, still 89GB and unviewable.

One thing I noticed, previously, I tried to compressed/zip one of the photo file, the zip file is only 4mb (which is a normal photo size), when I tried to open whats within the zip file, it still shows the file is 89GB and can't be open, not sure if this is a lead for you.

It's seems windows issue. You sure your hard disk still have a lot of space?

You may try run command prompt as administrator and enter these to disable compression.
