It has rubberised finishing. After 7 years, it became sticky. The only case that i found was YMDK CNC case for filco/old cm87.. quite expensive..

you should find some time to tune it so that it's much better than stock
you can try putting a small piece of fabric tape on the top part of both wire tips, then lube them with plastic-safe grease, like permatex, or superlube. i did the same to my space bar. there is no more tinkling sound even if i tapped very lightly on either side.

Never tried HPs, but theoretically, I'd say ergo clears. Then clears, then maybe browns.

dampening mat? they have both (a small piece of foam between plate and pcb, and a layer of foam under pcb; there should be a label stating that on the keyboard box)

yes, take your time to explore. most of them need first-hand experience. (previously i don't like clear housings, and i thought jwk housings were similar to gat ink's. however after testing out both, i like jwk's more)

My rojak ID80 build with mixture of different Kailh switches namely Copper, Silver, Box Burn Orange and Box Dark Yellow. I should've picked up some Box Pale Blue.

This is my first custom mech, I only lube the stabs, too lazy to even think of lubing the switches.


Part of the reason of getting a custom is because of these beautiful key caps, I really love those classic looking fonts. They are really hard to getting use to coming from OEM profile.

that's why the custom foam mod by ourselves are actually much more complete than leopold's.

i will start preparing for my next reference build soon, using leopold's sp-star grey, kelowna switch films, and 63.5g springs from everglide in terms of switches. sp-star grey is a good alternative to cherry mx linear.
