Here it is .. the journey with new toy hahaha ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() getting use to the new keyboard ... switching from my frankenswitch to the Harimau switch ... seems like the switch is softer then my previous maybe because the previous has a double spring and a longer stem. Just one rant about the harimau switch ... the quality would be better since the pin is so damn fragile and i did bend a few when trying to replace the or switch a funny story the no 1 key i cant get the harimau switch to fit but can get others to fit in overall the sound of the keyboard is awesome to my liking out of the box no other mod yet though ... will share the noise it makes soon hahaha This post has been edited by cruzzmz: Mar 21 2022, 10:31 AM horns liked this post

QUOTE(incognitroll @ Mar 22 2022, 10:04 AM) hi, can anyone please recommend a simple, minimalist but full size mkb with silent switch? no need backlight, preferably 2.4, 2nd choice bluetooth. nkro is a must. thanks in advanced. do you need the arrow keys? ... if not try the 61 keys keyboard ... the one that good and cheap will be RK i think ... or can try keychron brand too .. but it all back to your budget actually hahaha imho after using rk61 for a year i totaly love it up until i change it with the new keebs |

QUOTE(horns @ Mar 22 2022, 11:43 AM) yes, in general, if both have similar bottom-out spring weights, linear rated springs are relatively 'softer' than 2-stage springs. you can check out the force curve diagram at sprit designs for that. a good explanation as always from your side still not sure what exactly do you mean by harimau switch not fitting for that 1 key. well the switch cant fit permanently it will come off if u pull a bit on the keycaps i have tried with boba, panda, emerald and even my frankenswitch (the no 1 key of the numeric keys .. next to the esc key) another thing about this keebs is most of the keys are south facing except for the numeric is north facing ..not sure why also This post has been edited by cruzzmz: Mar 22 2022, 11:56 AM |

QUOTE(niakulah @ Mar 22 2022, 12:09 PM) Have you tried other Harimau switches on that same spot? Maybe the one you tried, the part that clips into the plate has broken/worn? It could be the plate though, in which case, probably keep using your different switch. i tried several of the harimau switch on the same spot ... no can use funny so in the end i use panda on all the numeric buttons Yup it is like that in this mkb ![]() This post has been edited by cruzzmz: Mar 22 2022, 12:36 PM |

QUOTE(krayden @ Mar 22 2022, 02:09 PM) I have some boards where the esc and 1 is north facing to make space for the usb port. you mean clipping the plastic legs?? and which one should i clipped? Here's a long shot for your number 1 harimau problem, try clipping the legs off one harimau to make it a 3pin. I previously had that problem with Nightwalker switches where most wont fit in a mojo. Every other switch i had fit np. QUOTE(syin16 @ Mar 22 2022, 04:15 PM) Anyone here uses the g66 pro? QUOTE(syin16 @ Mar 22 2022, 06:40 PM) according to the website it uses the gasket mount and also the plate screw ... i havent open up the case yet maybe later after a few months i will do some mod inside the casing as of now the sound it makes just nice for a guy who like loud typing sound hahaha QUOTE It adopts the gaskets on the edges of the bottom case as the main contact point, which is to bring soft tactile feelings and quieter sounds. Meanwhile, a few screws are used to secure the plate and the PCB to eliminate the common complaint of using a traditional gasket mounting keyboard - lacking support in the central typing area and instability when typing hard. Since my work is need to use keyboard everyday, I want to get keyboard that is satisfying to type in terms of feels and sound. what kind of the terms feels & sound do you like? loud or silent? My budget is around 1.5k to 2k. Can you guys recommend some keyboard, switch and keycaps to get? Also I would appreciate if you guys can provide me some useful resources that I can learn more? tqvm to add ... epomaker have a good keyboards too ... on top of that you could try moyu black, panda variants or you can try akko switches as for keycaps maybe you need to try on the many variants This post has been edited by cruzzmz: Apr 5 2022, 02:26 PM Xitox liked this post
