been trying to get my hands on a unit of tecware phantom elite.
Noticed that most of them are dead items on lazada and shopee.
No plans to restock from reseller and items continued to stay listed.. doh.gif
The only availables are sold directly from oversea. rclxub.gif

Not trying to sound rude, but, best of luck on that. it happens every single time. A restock batch arrive, and all sold out or all hoarded out within a month. sweat.gif

I have one TKL modded with lubed TTC silent reds. Or stock Gat browns. If you're interested.

Just brush the dust, wipe with alcohol solution..

I'm usually behind trend. Few times i saw tecware phantom was highly sought after without knowing the reason behind.
Until recently i know that it's actually modular after i saw my colleague bought one. That was the real reason why. And it's reasonable affordable compared to other "luxury" brands out there there were not modular.

The reason why i couldn't get one because i was into only full keys instead of TKL or the L profiles.
I'm thinking of getting Purple switches .

I've been checking back and forth with one of the sellers of tecware keyboard products.
Apparently there was production issues causing the delay for restock.
Although i still see oversea stock originated from Indonesia listed stock availability for it while tecware is actually a Philippine product.
So which side of the story is actually true i'm not sure.
I'm not going to take risk ordering an oversea product though. There are a lot of imitation product on the web with their sources unverified.

For the members who have experience doing the holee mod on stabs, I was wondering what material (tape/band aid/etc) you use to do the mod, and what worked the best (if you tried using several types of materials).

I've tried fabric type bandaid and cloth tape. I prefer the cloth tape. Easier to handle and sticks better. And it's available in many different colours if that's your thing.

Something like this:

Thanks for this suggestion! Found a roll of cloth tape at home and it works pretty well, don't hear any wire rattle anymore. I do feel some resistance/scratch but I think that's from me not using enough lube on the stab housing and slider rather than the tape itself but will keep experimenting to see what feels the best

I know. Just wondering what it would entail if I choose the harder and more expensive path.. In terms of effort and cost.

generally speaking, it's not compatible.
If you can provide more info on your dome switch keyboard, maybe I can help to point out what/where it is incompatible.

Im using the Logitech G510. Been using for more than 7yrs now. The things built like a brick but the volume wheel is not precise as it was before and recently, the left ctrl key is kinda stuck when pressed at an angle. Other than that its still working fine.

Thing is, im so used to the widgets (LCD clock, HWinfo readings, media, etc.) on the G510 LCD screen and since it is practically still usable, it got me thinking about the possibility of modding it to fix the left ctrl issue.

Found a video of a person sharing how he cleaned it.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...s/?id=366869403
it's a membrane keyboard with backlit LED.
Things you can do,
clean keycaps, you can do better then in video using wire keycap puller, make sure to dry them. space bar likely to have 3 wall instead of wire stablizer, take care to remove it, remove it last to have a good look under before doing it.
dissasemble and clean top plastic tray, clean membrane inner piece, lube the wall and the keycaps, just like topre lubing. wire stablizer can be cleaned and lubed as well, take care not to bend those.
fix ctrl key issue, most likely too much dirt causing jam.
important things,
dissasemble carefully, logitech is known to use hidden screw everywhere, under sticker under feet.
likely to have wires connecting top and bottom cover when seperated, operated carefully and unplug those connector carefully, making sure to remember how to unplug, how to plug it back.
LED backlit layer mostly a whole layer of pcb just for LED, not very important, clean with isopropyl alcohol.
the 2 pcs membrane layer, try not to seperate them, clean wipe surface with isoproply alcohol. if seperated, must take extra care to make sure no dust between layer when put back together.
the silicone layer clean with soap and water, let dry.
membrane assembly to pcb is important, must align properly and firmy screwed in.
it'll probably take me 4~6 hours, might take you longer if your doing it for the first time.
if any of the plastic caps crack ot break, habis liao, no replacement.

lastly, it's switch/key design is incompatible with mx style switch, so you can't change any other kind of switch into this keyboard. you can modify the type feel by lubing, and that's it.

....never o-O; lmfao

keyboard still works?

at most, all i do is remove the keycaps, wash them, then clean out any dirt stuck in the keyboard. thats it smile.gif

if there is a serious issue where a switch is non functional, then i'd have to replace that switch. hasn't happened yet to me so far confused.gif

keycaps wearing out.... not an issue for me because i use doubleshots and dye sublimated keycaps. there may be some shine, especially on the spacebar, but it's not that bad or noticeable either.

All is fine and dandy for my keyboard but was just curious. I put on the keyboard cover when not in use and the most I did was just taken out all the keycaps and did some light vacuuming and dab it with cloth dipped with isopropyl. I was thinking of just lubing it twice per year, perhaps.

Oh ya, is there anyone providing service for such service?

sure, search in carousell, facebook malaysia mech market.
if yours is hotswappable, easy.
if yours is soldered build, may incur extra charges.

If you had used Krytox, it's durable enough to last quite a while, perhaps not the 20 years like they are known of, but definitely not necessarily twice a year, unless you are chasing that "freshly lubed" feeling/sound.

There's definitely a market of people offering lube services but pricing and quality is quite varied also.
