Am thinking Hong Kong is cheapest eg. Fortress chainstores.

malaysia and hong kong is the cheapest if i not mistaken. malaysia is tax free for camera stuffs.

really?..i never knew about it... today i went to bintang maju in bangi, saw the banner saying its tax free, but i tot it was only for some old cam fair or something..

After comparing IT items pricing lists in Sim Lim and Low Yat, and photographic equipment between various sources in S'pore and forum postings here, I think buying them in Malaysia is cheaper.

Added on August 2, 2007, 1:06 amAlso, heard that Singaporeans too will save up to go on a shopping spree in Hong Kong when vacationing there. Savings alone can outweigh the travel expenses.

But I heard that you have to know whereabout in HK to buy or you'll be getting counterfeit/grey etc... kinda units. Certain areas to be avoided.....

Forget about Hong Kong, i heard from my friend that the price is about the same as MY, i've been told Japan has cheaper prices. Yet to be verified thou

HK is slightly cheaper ! don't go to Fortress ler

go to Mang Shing or Wing Shing in Kowloon's MongKok area

or Cameron Photo which is just behind Hyatt Regency in Tsim Sha Tsui

HK is slightly cheaper, but you'll have a warranty problem. Unless you travel very often to HK.

Last time i compare the price of D70s in Msia was RM3650 and in SG $1700. Unless you wan to buy grey product with no warranty, D80 kit only cost for SGD1500
