1 HP for rooms (bedroom, study room, etc).
1.5 HP is for larger rooms (e.g Master bedroom)
2HP for living room (won't be super cold, but enough to cool it dowm)

Period. Anything more than that, it will be too expensive to use. Electricity in Asia is not cheap.
