Last time those established stars are willing to come back because TVB is popular. They film TVB dramas to maintain their popularity.

Advertisers are leaving them too until you see they advertise on TV like radio commercials.

They can't maintain so many actors and actresses anymore. That is why a lot asked for early termination of contract.

Those who are still there are cheaper options.

First year watch tvb? It's been this way since 10+ years ago

Tvb is shrinking as they can’t step up their production quality, losing to mainland producer. The plot is still like 20 years ago, never change but with many unskilled actors/actresses. Occasionally there maybe some surprises but the quality is not consistent anymore.

no more tvb then what to watch ? dun want PRC drama too long dragging story line and i feel they all look like same person , thouse fiction super power old drama i dun like dunno what the story about, sword fight here and there, then super laser lighr phew phew , challenge here and there then love story .....boring

The final batch of young male actors that make it in TVB happens during 2000-2010 era. After that, they keep losing all their established male actors but with virtually no worthy replacement. TVB ends up have to rely on recruiting other male actors from other HK TV stations such as those older actors in ATV for many of their 2010-2019 dramas. Hence you see actors like Ruco Chan also become male lead. By 2020, almost all the male actors that starts off in TVB in the past have left the company already, now we are seeing lots of unfamiliar young faces who still need to be carried by other veteren older actors.

One area they don't dare to touch, politics.

Last time PRC in tvb drama tend to be hitman bad guys or uncultured people in HK, nowadays many tvb drama plot straight up make them saviour. Like a HK entity is struggling hard against something then suddenly one or more PRC entities conlanfirm suddenly show up out of the blue to save HK entity.

But no choice still have to swallow these tvb crap if wanna watch canto drama

of coz la..the politics in there so dam heavy. sikit2 cold storage. sikit2 sideline..if u also will jump out popular abit.

Gone case de. There's pretty lot of threads here in lyn about dielects. In summary, Cantonese will die in 1 or 2 more generations. About 100 years, all will speak mandarin only.

TVB was the best when ATV was their main rival. ATV had less popular stars but sometimes their series are quite good especially those from the 80's.

TVB was too dominant and begin to deteriorate in the late 90's.
