QUOTE(westlife @ Jun 10 2020, 01:18 AM) Yeah. Correct. Hotlink is better in any way than the crappy orange telco that is not even usable despite the unlimited data claimed. Actually I quite like the orange and yellow telcos, without them maybe we still spending 15cent for 1 sms and rm15 for 1 gb of data. Thank to these 2 telcos, our communication fee had gone down that much.Looking at the amount of attention given to this new hotlink unlimited plan, can easily tell how eager people want to switch to maxis if they have a choice give how inaccessible previously to maxis due to higher price tag. As a contrast, orange telcos has come out with ‘unlimited’ plans for so Long but it does not create much attention while people still prefer to stick to the traditional green, blue or yellow telcos instead as they know how ‘good’ the orange telco is. Same like there are many find Apple products expensive, if they dun want it, they won’t bother to even comment. People all want the best things but too bad their wallet depth are not at the best. QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jun 11 2020, 08:38 PM) There are people comparing Maxis to Apple. They are not always the first. But somehow the quality is always there, hence its premium pricing over other players. There have 1 package called maxis one prime. It comes with unlimited full speed LTE data ( FUP 300gb per month) . Just fyi.Which is why Maxis is likely to focus more on marketing its bundle products judging from its super aggressive expansion in the fibre business field, be it Maxis Postpaid + Maxis Fibre or Maxis Fibre + Astro, just like telco in Thailand. We’re already seeing Maxis giving out discount for the Hotlink Postpaid + Maxis Fibre bundle package, and now Astro too is heavily promoting Maxis Fibre with Astro bundle package that costs less than subscribing to each service separately. It’s just a matter of time until Maxis starts doing the same to Maxis Postpaid Unlimited and Fibre package too. They get to tie you up with 2 years contract too. It’s a big win for Maxis. They have to worry less about their subscribers suddenly jumping ship. In fact they have to if they want to stay on the top of their game. |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jun 11 2020, 10:42 PM) Yes. I’m aware of this plan as my parents are on MaxisONE Prime (since renamed as Maxis Unlimited Postpaid and Fibre last month). But the thing is, they don’t get any discount at all for subscribing to this bundle package, not like the RM50 discount Hotlink offers to its Hotlink Postpaid and Fibre package. And now Astro too is aggressively promoting the Astro + Maxis Fibre bundle package by offering RM30 discount to existing customers, which is very nice too. The only thing is out-of-contract Astro subscribers will be re-contracted for 2 years due to Maxis Fibre. But considering they are offering RM30 discount, I suppose that’s fair. Why not just take the hotlink flex + home fibre, and subscribe 2 HUP for your parent? It could save a lot of monthly commitments. So I’m hoping that Maxis will offer some sort of discount to its subscribers on Maxis Unlimited Postpaid and Fibre too. That is how telco in Thailand are fighting for customer base now with bundled packages at cheaper price and unlimited mobile data. Currently Maxis is doing only one thing which is offering unlimited mobile data but not cheaper price. But as price war intensifies, i can see Maxis has no choice but to do so eventually. After all whatever they are doing now, with focusing more on selling and marketing postpaid bundle packages is a carbon copy of the telco business model overseas like Thailand and South Korea etc. |

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Jun 12 2020, 01:50 AM) My dad is happy with his MOP128 with 1 active MaxisONE Share line at the moment that come with unlimited data ever since he’s on MaxisONE Prime. Whilst the price of Hotlink Postpaid + Maxis Fibre bundle package is very good, he has no plan to switch over to Hotlink because it doesn’t offer supplementary line. Besides, he’s also on contract now because of Maxis Fibre but he’s fine with that as he’s been with Maxis forever. We’re just hoping to see the same kind of discount being offered to MaxisONE Prime like the Hotlink Postpaid and Fibre bundle package in the near future. Good to hear that. Btw, u can play trick if u r MOP user. I did it before and this was what i got last timeI’m personally using Digi Postpaid 150 Infinite because I’m originally from KK, and Digi performs better than Maxis there. I used to use this a lot on both my iPhone and hotspot via Huawei B618-65D because we had no home internet. Usage however has gone down significantly since my dad upgraded to MaxisONE Prime. I did think of downgrading my own line to Digi Postpaid 80 since one can get up to 70GB data from the 25th month onwards but I’m worried that I may regret next time since Digi Postpaid 150 Infinite is such a good plan. So I’ve decided to stay on the Digi Infinite plan. Besides, Digi offers VoWiFi and it works overseas which really is Godsend! I travel a lot and there are times I need to call back to Malaysia landlines (home alarm system, banks, airlines etc.) and Digi VoWiFi consumes your local minutes even when you call from overseas. As in if I were to call back to Malaysia from London using my Digi line whilst connected to WiFi, the call will be treated as local call within Malaysia. That really can save me a lot of money. So at least one of us has to keep a Digi line. Not to mention Hotlink Postpaid offering isn’t very suitable for me, as in I feel there is too little data quota. Hence no chance of me to switch to that and my parents change from Maxis Postpaid to Hotlink Prepaid Unlimited. 1 fiber + 1 unlimited data + 1 unlimited mobile = rm89 + rm99 + SST. Hahaha |

QUOTE(Khuan0813 @ Jun 14 2020, 02:20 PM) Then you need to find out yourself. I think most likely the 4g signal wave can not penalty the thick wall or there are metal in between your phone and signal tower. At the beginning, I also think that it might be the problem of my telco. But when I take my phone and go to outside of my house, the line and the speed goes back to normal. Go inside the house, line drop suddenly and difficult to online. So if it is telco problem, the line will remain bad no matter inside the house or outside the house. I just share my experience. Not like someone keeps on posting the misleading and inflaming comments. Signal is getting weak is happening everywhere. Friend, u r not alone. |

QUOTE(aaron1293 @ Apr 18 2021, 09:28 PM) Hello Hotlink Users / Hotlink Customer Service Reps, Download the hotlink app, it will shows when your line will be terminated. The date will be refreshed after u reloaded .This post is about Active/Grace Period. I'm here wanted to know if anyone has done this before. So, the idea is to pay as cheaply as possible with Hotlink specifically, because only Hotlink/Maxis is good/stable in my area. And I don't make much calls or buy internet data, and I find the Free 1GB/day from Hotlink is enough. The idea is to pay RM1 on Day 45 to reset the 50 Days Grace period throughout the year. As an example, 1th Jan (Last Day of Active Period, No make payment / No top up) 2nd Jan \[Day 1 Grace Period\] (Enter Grace Period, No make payment / No top up) 16th Feb \[Day 45 Grace Period\] (Make Payment, for RM1 only) 17th Feb \[Day 0 Grace Period\] (Enter Active Period Day 1 due to RM1, No make payment / No top up) 18th Feb \[Day 1 Grace Period\] (Enter Grace Period, No make payment / No top up) 4th Apr \[Day 45 Grace Period\] (Make Payment, for RM1 only) Cycle repeats for the year 365Days/45Days = 8.1 \~ RM8+. So the questions are; 1) Will that RM1 on Day 45 reset the Grace Period to another 50 Days? 2) Anyone tried this before? 3) Is the transition from Grace Period to Active Period instantaneous? If not, how long will it take? Thank you for your time. |
