QUOTE(wild_card_my @ Jun 1 2020, 02:19 AM) Because i can, I've worked hard for my money and life is too short to keep driving my Proton Persona Elegance or anything of the same level Will driving a nice car really help in sales? As you grow your income you upgrade your lifestyle too. As long as you do it within your means you will be OK 1. Faster car, and I need to go to places quickly 2. Much more comfortable 3. Helps close the deal. When you have two great agents, one drives a BMW and the other drives one-step lower, subconsciously you will be attracted to the Bimmer. My sales numbers as of May have equaled my previous year's 4. The Persona was too old. I could have jumped to a mid-level like a Civic or a Mazda 3 but I'd say why not quantum leap all the way to a German marque? 5. It was my dream car anyway, the 3 Series (or a C-Class) 6. As an extension to number (3), I am an insurance/takaful agent. Of course I have to drive a BMW/Merc/Audi It could have a counter effect. |

Even if I am easily earning a minimum of RM10k/month for 2 years straight, I wouldn't spend more than RM100k on a car.
I would rather get a not too old used D segment car like Mazda6 rather than paying for a new car. Doesn't make sense to me to spend a full amount on a car when I can get a 2-3 year old car and save RM50-80k. |

For market, shopping mall (small car park slot and fkin prominent stands such as queensbay mall, mid valley non zone A B C), shitty roads, banks and small purposes, I like to use myvi. Easy parking, easy squeeze.
For highway, working purpose, travel to places I know can get good park slot, with family, I prefer bigger car. I still will love both and give best (engine oil, foam and carbon clean) to both. Car enthusiast. |

Been living out of suitcase, calling a hotel room in various country as a place to sleep, and taking a flight out of country almost every week for a good half of my working life had made me view a car is just a car. The only time I bought a vehicles above 100K (equivalent) was when we base where car is cheap but income tax is bloody expensive. Nowadays with adult kids, we just let the world pass by us and shrug off the shit that its throw to us. Lives on your own terms.

I have a friend who started off with Proton Saga then he switched to Honda Jazz. Not too long ago i saw him, he was planning to trade up again to get Mazda 6. His Jazz is around 5 years only and pretty sure havent paid his loan off.
I on the other hand been driving the same car all the while. So i asked him, why change car so often. He old me is his way to work harder. He said when he had to pay for Saga he could easy pay the monthly installment. When he drove Jazz he can also easily pay his installment. He said he would make sure he workers harder to ensure he can afford it. So, if he keeps going like this probably a Mazda 6 would not be a problem for him to pay the installment. He changed his attitude and worked harder for it. Not everybody same thou. Btw he works in sales and got a house also. |

QUOTE(wild_card_my @ Jun 1 2020, 10:35 PM) I had a case before where a client who complained to me about another agent who is requests for a higher commission and was commented that this is how the other agent can afford to buy a nice car by always requesting for higher and more and more commission. So the house owner seems to have a certain view of agents with a nicer car and made it clear she didn't like dealing with that agent. This is an isolated incident though. Actually, 2x. |
