Hi guys. Im not sure whether this is legal in LYN but here goes.

I just got myself an iphone and I can't use it with my Maxis and I can only use wifi to surf the net and ipod on it.

Wonder if any of you guys have found a way to unlock this phone..

Cz the phone is cool but if you can't use it to make call.. its not a phone... its an ipod and internet surfing plus movie... Sob..

so that they can control which networks will partner with them.

if Apple doesn't lock the phone, everyone will offer discounts on iPhone... free iPhone with 5 year contract... that kinda nonsense... this way, Apple gets to decide who can buy and who can use the APPLE iPHONE!

Apple is very arrogant when it comes to who they can sell the product to. A few years ago, they were desperate of new customers. Today, they have forgotten them.

That's one of the reason why i love apple. That makes their products exclusive.

Apple has always and will always be a product to people who think different.
These people literally create websites and blogs to commemorate Apple and it's so called niche products. They do whatever they can to keep Apple as it is.

By the way, there would be an unlocking method for the iPhone. The scores of codes are crazy. It's just a matter of time. Well, if the hacking period would take up to next year. I might as well wait until the Asian version is here.

Yeah, apple is for person who think different. I would like to hear as well when did they desperate for customers ? before Steve Jobs era perhaps ? I never see apple inc desperate for customers under Steve Jobs. Is ppl who craving for their products. They create and others follow.. I love apple.

i think they reason why they lock the phone is so that they can control which region has it...

if the phone is unlocked, then there is not enough supply for the 1st region where the phone is introduced....

i think it's impossible... it's something similar with those nokia phones which r locked to orange n t-mobile which ppl brings back from the states which they got from contracts they signed....
