Full stack developers can earn that in 5-6 years provided you made jumps at the right time and have decent technical knowledge.

Other niche jobs that will be sought in the market that also can easily earn 5 digits provided you're decent at your job. No need to be genius.

- Data scientist
- White hacker
- IT Security specialist
- RPA Developer

Of course you have those existing big titles that confirm earn beyond 10k.

- Solution architect
- Delivery Manager
- Development Manager

I think the hardest one will be 20k salary, 10k is just a normal progression for any skilled developer/IT personnel with 6-8 years experience.

IT field is broad, yes. and the pay depends on what you specialize in.

So, to those who work in this field with 5 digits salary or close to that figure, come share what is your specialization/position.

and how many years did it take for you to earn this amount of salary?

Sometimes it’s not abt the pay. It’s the environment or one’s passion in something in life.

I have a fren worked in exxonmobil sg. He quit his high paying job to start up a software company in jb. Another guy worked in ibm sg. Quit to come back farming. He lives farming, growing something to supply to some industries n sg

Started from 1.5k as a fresh grad to 7 years later with 10.5k, I would say it's damn slow. But the learning experience has been great.

Jumping/hopping/whatever is the key to level up. Companies in Malaysia don't know how to appreciate talent. They don't give a shit about loyalty either. So just jump/hop/whatever whenever you get the chance.

Life is simple, always go for the better opportunity and hold on to it.
