As topic. I'm looking for PC microphone that's good for recording. I need to make online lecture notes and tutorials. Currently I'm using a cap ayam gaming mic that comes with the cap ayam headphone. It's got a lot of noise and inconsistent (sometimes it pics up my voice good, sometimes it decides the background noise is more important biggrin.gif).

I don't know a lot about microphones. Any suggestions would be good.

- If it comes with a stand or boom, would be better.
- Preferably not a clip on.
- If it can prevent breath sounds would be great.
- Budget around RM150-RM200.

When I was working, the office provided me with Plantronics or something. Quite ok, gets the job done. But in a pinch, any cap ayam earphone also can be used.

Point the mic AWAY from your mouth to prevent breathing noises.
Don't get rid of the soft cloth covering the mic. It helps to reduce echo.

Something from boya. You need a dead cat to avoid catching your breathing noises.
Slightly better and more expensive option would be a blue yeti mini.
Really cheap option fifine.
A desktop mic will pick up any table vibration. Best is the arm with springs.

1. You can use Krisp software. It has BG noise cancellation option.

2. You can use Camtasia to record your lecture. You can remove BG noise when processing the video, its a one-click step.

3. The cheap option with a decent mic I have ever used was CM Ceres 300. With your budget, you can get the 500 version.

ko kene beli yang setup macam ni. takyah carik rode, probably too mahal for lecturing use. china punya banyak. carik versi usb, bukan headphone jack.

a good cheap brand would be samson. local distributor dia kat tepi lot 10 - JS music. kalau pergi cakap kldc sent you.

an alternative is one of those usb gaming headphone/mic.

condenser ni elok untuk studio. dynamic/"normal" mic elok untuk live or loud sounds. sebab tu karaoke pakai normal mic je. kalo pakai condenser nyanyi konfem rosak dah pastu.

pegi lazatda or peeshop carik je usb condenser. boleh dapat elok punye together with arm for under 250.

Hi there..Im using clip on earphone from philips and plextone to record my video lecture. Both are clip on and was purchased in 2018 iinm. Quite nice and good but did not do much on reducing noise(plextone quite good in minimising noise compared to phillips)

My friend use this one as he is more advanced than me in relation to IT stuffs. The sound recorded is good and his video has clear voice as compared to the recording using earphone. It was bought early this year and cost around 80++..shipping took 10-12 days before MCO. Maybe you can consider this one as an option😁

kalau jack, ko kena ada DAC. also kalau jack, most headphone port kat pc tak elok and ada interference.

kalo usb, think of it like having an external usb sound card attached into the headphone/mic.

condenser yang bukan macam mic karaoke, and yang macam dalam studio orang buat recording lagu.

but muke ko muke uitm, damn laugh.gif

beza uitm and utm is the "i" only... kan?

but true to c-fu
if analog/jack your mobo must have internal sound card, that converts analog signal to digital, and usually intenal sc no good, especially grounding, which can create hiss in recording
usb better since digital signal is sent to pc rather than analog
also, get some Acoustic Foams Panels to lower echo in recording

Regarding the USB and XLR input, XLR will sound a lot better if you have a good audio interface. But for recording classes and voice chat in general, a USB mic will sound decent enough without breaking the bank.

Edit: Read wrong, I thought XLR. Turns out it was about the 3.5mm jack. A USB interface is better than the 3.5mm because the audio is direct. A 3.5mm jack type of microphone requires your PC to convert to audio on its own which could introduce noise with all the electronics inside a PC.

Oh, its not really as robotic as in using robot voice. I think its still okay. Even when u use the bg music, still can hear some sound distortion. But yea, for temporary and cheap solution, thats the best we can do i think. I'm using xiberia headphons from china, its not the best, but as long as my students can hear me clearly it shud be good enuf.

To eliminate background noise, just use RTX Voice: https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/guides...ce-setup-guide/

its a type of microphone, not getting into detail, its a type of microphone that is good for vocals, go on youtube to have a listen,

i used to use a cap ayam gaming headphone mic when i was doing voiceovers and "gaming tutorials" (never went far) , i invested in a condenser mic and it was the best investment i had made, but one con with it is that its bloody sensitive

you have to record in a quiet room else the damn thing will pick up dog barking from 2 houses away, the one i had was a little over your budget but not much, it was a Samson C01U USB, reason i went for that was the ease of use, just plug it in the usb port and its ready

Condenser mic pickup dia kuat if your room bising they will tangkap semua background noise di sekeliling lu, macam aircond/angin semua tu

Dynamic less sensitive dia pickup suara depan mic tu je
Tak tangkap background noise

try this first. you can check tests with various mics here:

also despite the name, you do not need an RTX.

I recommend the Samson Q2U. Although it is RM100 above your budget, it is a dynamic mic which is more suitable for home use. Alot of the mics being suggested here are condensors.

In short, studios use condensors because they have professionally treated sound rooms. Their surroundings are quiet and no echo. Our house with cat, dog, crying baby, the condensor will pick up everything.

Dynamic mics are more sensitive to sound that is directly in front of the mic, so it tends to pick up only your voice. Of course still need to be careful. Also, dynamic mics naturally record your voice lower, so you more sexy.

I use this setup and I've been recording videos and having video calls happily. You'll have the mic stick into your view abit but it's not very distracting if you position it properly.

I'm also looking for something similar to OP

And have narrowed it down to getting myself either one of these two, but I'm not sure about power or experience on it. I would prefer getting one that's usb or doesn't need external power to run.
