Great written review, bro. Perfect router for gamers, but it should have support Wif-Fi 6 instead of Wi-Fi 5. Nevertheless, I would still get it if I need a new router.

Haha. Thanks for the feedback boss. I will improve the lightning in the next video. I will accept this feedback bro. biggrin.gif . I was waiting for the launch of AX86U for my next router replacement before settle down with EdgeRouter 6P. nod.gif

Well, this is the truth. For a dual-core router, it is quite expensive and that's why most people opt for the RT-AC86U over this.

Edgerouter 6 .. pricey. Impressive packet performance..

I am on rb4011 thanks to a friend.. 4 core dual switch 8 port with sfp Support up to 10gbps.
Motherboards nowadays churning out 2.5/5/10 Gbps nic.

So after 3years down the road these boards will be the cheap home server boards ppl use. Aka ryzen gen 2.. etc.

That's a good piece of hardware you are having there. I have a good experience using mikrotik before, the famous hEX RB750Gr3. Initially planned to settle once again with mikrotik, but the edgerouter caught my attention. I personally don't really rely on wireless connectivity since most of the PCs & laptop connected physically to the router (LAN), so invested on a cheap m4 (additional sub from unifi) to broadcast wireless signal. Tbh, I haven't fully explore the edgerouter 6p yet. Too bad it only comes with one sfp port and not sfp+ port. nod.gif

Hello, would like to ask about this router.
Is this router good? I am using TIME 500Mbps.
Will this router give a major upgrade from TP-Link Archer C9?

Thanks.

Hi there FusionXY, pardon me for the delayed response. Answering to your questions, based on my personal usage of the router, the GT-AC2900 is way... I mean WAYYY better than the C9 from TP-LINK. I personally feel, if I was about to choose a new router and choosing in between the AC86U or GT-AC2900, I would go for GT-AC2900 instead. Although the AC86U gets Merlin touch, the GT-AC2900 offers similar of what Merlin offers. To sum things up, YES, it will be a great upgrade from C9. But why don't you wait for the AX86U instead? It will be available in the Malaysian market probably this month.

The RT-AX86U are estimated to be available around end of July 2020.
And the SRP price is RM1388.

Just hold your cash for a few weeks more. If I were you, i will straight-away go for AX86U. Too bad I've settled down with Ubiquiti.

Spoke with their live chat agent & they said it does supports VLAN, but only for the WAN port, no Ethernet port VLAN for IPTV though
