Hi,

I bought a used car and the dealership offered me free headlight cover replacement but I have to leave my car overnight for them to do the replacement.

Is it normal? I thought headlight cover replacement is quite fast... I'm not sure why they need to do it overnight...

Any ideas?

wow, replace whole cover is not cheap considering a quick polish & restore could result in same (provided the plastic is not already beyond saving)

must be making a nice margin from the sale =P

either this place is really honest, or they restore only but request over night so have lots of time to allocate your 15min job haha

what car?
some cars especially conti do sell lens cover, those are not expensive
for what japs, rarely can find replacement lens cover
most important is what material the replacement is, good or not, easy to become yellow? and the glue for water proofing is also very important. you dont want to have water or vapor in your headlamp

i'm very confused after i read your post many times
as i know there are no "cover replacement"
it is either replace the whole headlight(minus the lighting assembly)
or
dissamble the headlamp....melt the glue and clean it from the inside thn glue it back thn put it back onto the car

I went for sanding, polish and coating by AK Coating for my car's yellowish headlamp. 2 years warranty.

It is possible to buy replacement lenses for some cars... Whether the quality will be as good as the OEM piece is another matter though!
