QUOTE(ChessRook @ May 31 2020, 06:36 PM) My question to you is would Germany had lost even if the US had not enter the war? So Germany fighting against USSR, UK and France. That's a good question. We know the Russians were getting stronger in both men/tanks/aircraft by 1943/44 and were and were able to replace what they lost relatively quickly unlike the German's who had a smaller population & industry. If the Americans did not join the war and Britain did not get aircraft/equipment and a long terms financial loans, it may have ended in a stalemate in my humble opinion. After losing an average of 400,000 men on average per month in 1940-1943, they simply ran out of men in the greater scheme of things & would have to had negotiated peace with the Russians I think. |

Invading Soviet Union when the war with Britain had not been concluded. Ultimately opening two fronts that was the same fate with WW1 Germany.
Hitler was too overconfident with Nazi Germany able to defeat Soviet in no time. |

QUOTE(BS8110 @ May 31 2020, 07:41 PM) Invading Soviet Union when the war with Britain had not been concluded. Ultimately opening two fronts that was the same fate with WW1 Germany. The WW1 situation was very different I think in comparison to how WW2 started.Hitler was too overconfident with Nazi Germany able to defeat Soviet in no time. In WW1, Franz Ferdinand was assinated in Serbia and the Austro-Hungarian Government threatened to invade Serbia, dragging Germany, who did not say " don't invade" but chose to keep quiet about it until they too were dragged into the war and invaded Belgium and France, whilst the Austro-Hungrians had to fight it out with the Serbs and the Russians who came to the defence of the Serbs. |
